11. Array based genetic profiling of chronic lymphocytic leukemia
Sammanfattning : Although no common genetic defect has been described in chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL), recurrent genomic aberrations (i.e. deletions of chromosome 11q, 13q, 17p and trisomy 12) are important for prognostication. Deletion of 13q as single aberration is associated with the best prognosis, whereas del(11q) and del(17p) predict a poor outcome. LÄS MER
12. Molecular genetic studies of psoriasis susceptibility in 6p21.3
Sammanfattning : Psoriasis is a common and chronic skin disease with multifactorial background. It affects approximately 2% of the Swedish population and is characterized by inflammatory and scaly lesions. The aetiology of psoriasis is not yet known, however, the genetic contribution to the disease is strong. LÄS MER
13. 5-HT2A : a serotonin receptor with a possible role in joint diseases
Sammanfattning : BackgroundSerotonin (5-HT), an amino acid derivative and neurotransmitter, has for long been studied in relation to inflammation. It is an endogenous ligand for several different types of serotonin receptors. The serotonin receptor 5-HT2A has been reported to have a role in the pathophysiology of arthritis in animal experiment models. LÄS MER
14. Nasal epithelial cells : innate immunity and inflammation
Sammanfattning : The surface epithelium that lines the nasal passages is often the first tissue in the airway to encounter inhaled pathogens. It collaborates closely with the innate immune system, a subsystem of the immune system that defends the host from infection by organisms, mainly by initiating a local inflammatory reaction. LÄS MER
15. Local Purinergic Control of Arteriolar Reactivity in Pancreatic Islets and Renal Glomeruli
Sammanfattning : Local control of regional blood flow is exerted mainly through the arterioles. An adequate minute-to-minute regulation of blood perfusion of the kidney and the pancreas is obtained by the modulation of arteriolar reactivity, which will influence the organ function. LÄS MER
