  1. 1. The Multifunctional HnRNP A1 Protein in the Regulation of the Cyp2a5 Gene : Connecting Transcriptional and Posttranscriptional Processes

    Författare :Tina Glisovic; Matti Lang; Francoise Raffalli-Mathieu; Lorenz Poellinger; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Pharmaceutical biochemistry; Cyp2a5; DNA-protein interaction; gene regulation; hnRNP A1; nucleocytoplasmic shuttling; RNA-protein interaction; RNA stabilization; posttranscriptional; transcriptional; Farmaceutisk biokemi; Pharmaceutical biochemistry; Farmaceutisk biokemi;

    Sammanfattning : The mouse xenobiotic-inducible Cyp2a5 gene is both transcriptionally and posttranscriptionally regulated. One of the most potent Cyp2a5 inducers, the hepatotoxin pyrazole, increases the CYP2A5 mRNA half-life. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Dynamic aspects of nucleocytoplasmic trafficking

    Författare :Cecilia Rustum; Einar Hallberg; Urs Greber; Stockholms universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Cell biology; Cellbiologi;

    Sammanfattning : Cellular structures and compartmentalization is the result of a dynamic steady state exchange between its components. This thesis is focused in investigations of dynamic properties of green fluorescent protein (GFP)-labeled proteins in live cells using confocal laser microscopy in combination with bleaching techniques such as fluorescence recovery after photobleaching (FRAP) and fluorescence loss in photobleaching (FLIP). 3. 3. Imaging of nucleocytoplasmic transcription factor dynamics in yeast

    Författare :Kristofer Bodvard; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; transcription factor; single-cell; yeast; image analysis; Saccharomyces cerevisiae; light stress; Fluorescence microscopy; signalling;

    Sammanfattning : Fluorescence microscopy has proven to be an invaluable tool in identifying and understanding cell signalling, intracellular spatial and temporal dynamics, and cell-to-cell variability. This thesis focuses on imaging of nucleocytoplasmic transcription factor dynamics at the single cell level in yeast. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Subcellular localization and signalling of Brutons tyrosine kinase (Btk)

    Författare :Leonardo Vargas-Vallejo; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Nyckelord :B-cells; Brutons tyrosine kinase; X-linked agammaglobulinemia; pleckstrin homology domain; cytoskeleton; nucleocytoplasmic shuttling; caveolin-1; ubiquitin; SUMO-1.;

    Sammanfattning : Brutons tyrosine kinase (Btk) is a non-receptor tyrosine kinase related to the Src family of kinases. Mutations in various parts of the gene have been shown to cause X-linked agammaglobulinemia (XLA), a primary immunodeficiency in humans, characterized by a defect in B-cell development. LÄS MER
