1. Aerosol Particle Sources Affecting the Swedish Air Quality at Urban and Rural Level
Sammanfattning : During the last decades anthropogenic aerosol particles have attracted much attention due to their adverse health effects and their influence of climate change, and in Sweden, there are mainly three aerosol sources that affect the air quality; domestic wood combustion, traffic, and long distance transport, which includes new particle formation. This work concerns the characterization of these sources and an estimate of how much they contribute to the aerosol particle number (ToN) and mass concentrations (PM) in Swedish cities and at background locations. 2. Muspel and Surtr : CVD system and control program for WF6 chemistry
Sammanfattning : CVD (Chemical Vapour Deposition) is an advanced technique for depositing a coating on a substrate. CVD implies that a solid phase is deposited on a normally heated substrate surface using a reactive, gaseous mixture. The reaction gas mixture must be carefully chosen to prevent homogeneous nucleation in the gas phase. LÄS MER
3. γ-Radiation Induced Synthesis of Metal oxides : Control of Particle Size, Composition, and Morphology
Sammanfattning : Nanomaterials show a significant difference in chemical, mechanical, electronic, magnetic and optical properties compared with bulk counterparts. The synthesis is a key-step to achieve the unique properties of nanomaterials. LÄS MER
4. On microstructure formation and mechanical properties in grey cast iron
Sammanfattning : A major user of cast components is the automotive industry, where the functionality of the components is related to environmental demands. Internal combustion engines are constantly being improved to emit less pollution. A vital part in this development is to increase the material properties of engine components during their life cycle. 5. Reaching Kinetic Selectivities : In Pursuing Novel Ternary Oxide Coatings, and Beyond
Sammanfattning : Kinetically driven synthesis pathways have the potential to allow new ways to develop materials and phases with much-improved properties. This particularly concerns metastable and multicomponent phases that require a selective kinetic targeting during the synthesis to circumvent the formation of thermodynamically stable products.
