21. Magnetic resonance imaging and diffusion tensor imaging after brachial plexus injury and repair : Experimental and clinical study
Sammanfattning : Brachial plexus injuries (BPI) cause permanent upper limb paralysis and serious disability in adults and children. Timely identification of the severity of nerve injury and early appreciation of the inane potential for recovery would revolutionise management. LÄS MER
22. Functional Magnetic Resonance Imaging for Clinical Diagnosis : Exploring and Improving the Examination Chain
Sammanfattning : Functional Magnetic Resonance Imaging (fMRI) is a relatively new imaging technique, first reported in 1992, which enables mapping of brain functions with high spatial resolution. Functionally active areas are distinguished by a small signal increase mediated by changes in local blood oxygenation in response to neural activity. LÄS MER
23. Quantitative Magnetic Resonance Imaging of the Brain : Applications for Tissue Segmentation and Multiple Sclerosis
Sammanfattning : Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) is a sensitive technique for assessing white matter (WM) lesions in multiple sclerosis (MS), but there is a low correlation between MRI findings and clinical disability. Because of this, other pathological changes are of interest, including changes in normal appearing white matter (NAWM) and diffusely abnormal white matter (DAWM). LÄS MER
24. The Utility of Ultrasmall Superparamagnetic Iron Oxide Contrast Agents for Cardiovascular Magnetic Resonance Imaging
Sammanfattning : The purpose of this thesis was to investigate the utility of the Ultrasmall Superparamagnetic Iron Oxide Particle (USPIO), NC100150 Injection for assessment of macro- and microvascular morphology and function using magnetic resonance imaging. The feasibility of NC100150 Injection was tested for the following applications: Coronary angiography, Thrombus detection, Cardiac function, Myocardial perfusion, Assessment of myocardial blood volume and water exchange and finally assessment of endothelial integrity of the myocardium. 25. A nuclear magnetic resonance study of dialkyldithiophosphate complexes : polycrystalline and surface adsorbed
Sammanfattning : 31P, 13C and 207Pb NMR were used to characterize different metal (Ni, Zn, Pb) dialkyldithiophosphate complexes. Eight different sodium or potassium dialkyldithiophosphate salts (alkyl groups R=ethyl-, n-propyl, iso-propyl, n- butyl, iso-butyl, sec-butyl, iso-amyl and cyclo-hexyl) were used as starting materials.
