21. Activities in space - appropriation or use?
Sammanfattning : This Thesis is a work of public international law, more specifically of international space law. The Thesis deals with the question of whether different activities in outer space and on celestial bodies are permitted under the rules of freedom of use in the law of outer space or whether some activities amount to appropriation of space, which is banned. 22. Wild bees in agricultural landscapes: Modelling land use and climate effects across space and time
Sammanfattning : Wild bees are declining in many parts of the world, which poses a risk for crop pollination and ecosystem health. Land use and climate change are two of the main drivers of the decline, and understanding the interactive effects of these two drivers and wild bees is very important to be able to develop proper responses and mitigate future negative effects. 23. Exploring novel therapeutic strategies in neuroblastoma
Sammanfattning : Neuroblastoma (NB) is the most frequently diagnosed extracranial tumour in children, which arises from transient embryonal tissue of the neural crest that fails to complete terminal differentiation into neurons. Even after completion of successful therapy, high risk neuroblastoma patients typically suffer from post-treatment induced toxicity which impacts on their ability to lead a normal life. LÄS MER
24. Novel aspects of Na+,K+-ATPase
Sammanfattning : Na,K-ATPase, an integral membrane protein expressed in each eukaryotic cell, serves as the major determinant of intracellular ion composition. In the current study we investigated novel aspects of Na,K-ATPase function and regulation. It is well established that Na,K-ATPase activity is regulated by reversible phosphorylation. LÄS MER
25. A novel approach to text classification
Sammanfattning : This thesis explores the foundations of text classification, using both empirical and deductive methods, with a focus on author identification and syntactic methods. We strive for a thorough theoretical understanding of what affects the effectiveness of classification in general. LÄS MER
