  1. 1. Takotsubo stress cardiomyopathy and different types of stress

    Författare :Olov Collste; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Nyckelord :takotsubo stress cardiomyopathy;

    Sammanfattning : Myocardial infarction with normal coronary angiography (MINCA) is an important subgroup of myocardial infarction for which the prevalence, underlying pathophysiology, prognosis and optimal management are still largely unknown. Interest in and awareness of MINCA has increased in recent years due to the frequent use of coronary angiography, the description of Takotsubo stress cardiomyopathy (TSC) and new sensitive troponin assays. 2. 2. Stress system function in abdominal obesity. The hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal axis and the sympathetic nervous system in middle-aged men

    Författare :Thomas Ljung; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Nyckelord :Abdominal obesity; stress; HPA axis; cortisol; glucocorticoid receptors; sympathetic nervous system; catecholamines; depression; SSRI;

    Sammanfattning : Background: There is a strong relationship between central (abdominal, visceral) obesity, impaired glucose tolerance, insulin resistance, dyslipidemia and elevated blood pressure. These abnormalities are included in the term Metabolic Syndrome, and indicate an elevated risk for cardiovascular disease and diabetes type 2. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Influence of lifestyle behaviours on bone mineral density among young healthy women: A two-year study. A Tentative Salutary Model

    Författare :Carina Elgán; Institutionen för hälsovetenskaper; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; grounded theory; follow-up; Skeleton; muscle system; rheumatology locomotion; Skelett; muskelsystem; reumatologi; multiple triangulation; stress; time spent outdoors; sleep; salutogenic; bone resorption; bone mineral density; Young healthy women; lifestyle;

    Sammanfattning : The overall aim of this prospective observational study with a salutogenic approach was to investigate bone mineral density (BMD) and BMD changes in the heel bone, in a group of healthy women, in relation to physiological factors and lifestyle behaviours over a two-year period as well as investigating the women’s view of their lifestyle behaviours. Data were collected in 1999 (T1) and 2001 (T2). LÄS MER

  4. 4. Integrative physiology as a tool towards good animal welfare and sustainability in aquaculture: Focus on intestinal function and health

    Författare :Ida Hedén; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; sustainability; welfare; stress; intestinal function; nutrient uptake;

    Sammanfattning : The human population is growing, and the world’s leaders are trying to provide humans with food resources and at the same time setting goals promoting sustainable food production. This means that we need to find new food sources that are not in conflict with future generations’ right to a world without hunger and environmental destruction. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Numerical investigation on the formation mechanism of residual stress in metal cutting

    Författare :Yang Liu; Industriell Produktion; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Residual stress; FEM; ; Metal cutting; Thermal-mechanical load; Plastic deformation;

    Sammanfattning : Residual stress can be introduced unintentionally into the workpiece with various magnitudes and distributions through all manufacturing processes. These stresses have a significant effect upon the performance of the final component. LÄS MER
