1. Nonlinear Numerical Simulations of Interactions Between Ice Rubble and Structure
Sammanfattning : This research is focused on three distinct but interconnecting topics:1) investigation of physical and mechanical properties of ice rubble, 2) material modelling of ice rubble, 3) numerical simulation of the interaction between ice rubble structure interaction. large scatter in the values of physical and mechanical properties of ice rubble can be seen in the literature due to non-standardised methods. 3. On dynamic properties of rubber isolators
Sammanfattning : This work aims at enhancing the understanding and to provideimproved models of the dynamic behavior of rubber vibrationisolators which are widely used in mechanical systems.Initially, a time domainmodel relating compressions tocomponent forces accounting for preload effects, frequency anddynamic amplitude dependence is presented. 4. Dynamic Characteristics of Floating Breakwaters
Sammanfattning : The dynamic behaviour of interconnected floating breakwaters has been studied theoretically and experimentally. For this type of shore-protection system, problems that must be dealt with include wave loads on the breakwaters caused by the interaction between the bodies and the waves, motions of the moored breakwaters caused by the waves, changed wave fields in front of and behind the breakwaters, and forces on the mooring cables and in interconnections between breakwater units. 5. Towards active engine mounting systems for commercial vehicles: modeling and analysis
Sammanfattning : The vehicle engine mounting system, which consists of several mounts connecting the engine to the vehicle structure, not only supports the weight of the engine but also isolates the noise, vibration and the transmitted forces to the vehicle structure. At present conventional elastomeric mounts are widely used in engine mounting systems for commercial vehicles. LÄS MER
