1. Non-Linear Optical Titanyl Arsenates Crystal Growth and Properties
Sammanfattning : Crystals are appreciated not only for their appearance, but also for their unique physical properties which are utilized by the photonic industry in appliances that we come across every day. An important part of enabling the technical use of optical devices is the manufacture of crystals. LÄS MER
2. Domain engineering in KTiOPO4
Sammanfattning : Ferroelectric crystals are commonly used in nonlinear optics for frequency conversion of laser radiation. The quasi-phase matching (QPM) approach uses a periodically modulated nonlinearity that can be achieved by periodically inverting domains in ferroelectric crystals and allows versatile and efficient frequency conversion in the whole transparency region of the material. 3. ALL-OPTICAL CONTROL OF MOLECULAR FUNCTIONS - ENERGY TRANSFER SWITCHING AND INFORMATION PROCESSING
Sammanfattning : In this work, the photoswitching of molecular systems endowed with photochromic functionality have been investigated for the reversible photonic gating of excitation energy transfer (FRET) reactions as well as in application for all-photonic molecular logic. The presented systems involves the integration of photochromic entities within both covalent and non-covalent designs and serves to implicate photonic switching of molecular level phenomena. LÄS MER
4. Characterization of Ultrashort Pulses And Ultrafast Dynamics of Molecules In the Liquid Phase
Sammanfattning : This thesis reports an alternative method for fully acomplete characterization of the UV pump pulse and white lightcontinuum probe pulse, which is commonly used in the pump-probeexperiments to investigate the ultrafast dynamics of molecules.Besides that, real dynamics of infrared cyanine dye molecules(Methyl-DOTCI) and photo-induced dissociation of trihalide ions(I3-or I2Br-) solvated in different organic solvent has alsobeen carefully investigated.
