  1. 1. Neuropsychological Function After Coronary Artery Bypass Grafting

    Författare :Cecilia Dautovic Bergh; Institutionen för psykologi; []
    Nyckelord :SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; neuropsychology; neurophysiology; Neurology; coronary artery bypass surgery; S100B; neuropsychological function; Psychology; Neurologi; neuropsykologi; neurofysiologi; Psykologi;

    Sammanfattning : Despite considerable research efforts, the incidence and mechanisms of diffuse cognitive impairment after coronary artery bypass surgery are not fully understood. The aim of the dissertation was to describe cognitive changes after coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG) and the predictors and consequences thereof. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Neuropsychological Function in Relation to Structural and Functional Brain Changes in Alzheimer’s Disease

    Författare :Eva Elgh; Jarl Risberg; Umeå universitet; []
    Nyckelord :Alzheimer´s disease; neuropsychological function; episodic memory; hippocampus; prefrontal cortex; brain imaging; MRI; fMRI; SPECT; LHPA-axis; cortisol; geriatrik; Geriatrics;

    Sammanfattning : The aim of this doctoral thesis was to study neuropsychological function in relation to structural and functional brain changes in Alzheimer´s disease (AD). In the first study relations between hippocampal volume, neuropsychological function and limbic-hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal (LHPA) axis disturbances in AD were investigated with magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). 3. 3. Human brain function evaluated with rCBF-SPECT : memory and pain related changes and new diagnostic possibilities in Alzheimer’s disease

    Författare :Torbjörn Sundström; Katrine Riklund; Rimma Danielsson; Umeå universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; brain imaging; rCBF; SPECT; early diagnosis; brain atlas; HMPAO; Alzheimer´s disease; Whiplash; neuropsychological function; episodic memory; Diagnostic radiology; Diagnostisk radiologi;

    Sammanfattning : The aim of this doctoral thesis was to study the influence of memory, pain, age and education on the regional cerebral blood flow (rCBF), i.e. brain function, in early Alzheimer's disease (AD) and in chronic neck pain patients in comparison to healthy controls and in healthy elderly per se. 4. 4. Sensorimotor function following anterior cruciate ligament injury : movement control, proprioception and neuropsychological perspectives

    Författare :Adam Grinberg; Charlotte Häger; Martin Björklund; Dario G. Liebermann; Clare Ardern; Umeå universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; ACL; knee injury; sensorimotor control; proprioception; functional test; fear; anxiety; kinematics; electromyography; EMG; electroencephalography; EEG; brain; neuroplasticity; injury prevention; Sports Medicine; idrottsmedicin;

    Sammanfattning : Background: The high incidence of anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injuries in sports suggests an involvement of both biomechanical and neurocognitive risk factors. Athletes are constantly exposed to challenging sports scenarios, which are often characterised by high-intensity movements combined with a multi-stimuli environment and continuous psychological pressure. 5. 5. Specifying the Heterogeneity in Children with ADHD : Symptom Domains, Neuropsychological Processes, and Comorbidity

    Författare :Cecilia Wåhlstedt; Gunilla Bohlin; Björn Lyxell; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :ADHD; Heterogeneity; Hyperactivity Impulsivity; Inattention; Neuropsychological Pathways; Comorbidity; Psychology; Psykologi;

    Sammanfattning : Heterogeneity in children with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) symptoms is a well-known phenomenon. Empirically, this heterogeneity is evident in at least three different respects: expression of the two ADHD symptom domains (hyperactivity/impulsivity and inattention), neuropsychological impairments, and comorbid behavior problems.
