  1. 26. The Importance of Dosimetry and Radiobiology in Nuclear Medicine : Quantitative methods and modelling

    Författare :Anna Stenvall; Lund Medicinsk strålningsfysik; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Nuclear medicine; radionuclide therapy; radiopharmaceutical therapy; dosimetry; Monte Carlo modelling; radiobiology; ; γH2AX; DOTA-TATE; PET; SPECT;

    Sammanfattning : Nuclear medicine uses radioactive pharmaceuticals for diagnostic or therapeutic purposes. The ionizing radiation emitted from the radiopharmaceutical is partially absorbed within the patient's body and internal dosimetry is the method to estimate the absorbed dose to a tumour or risk organ. 2. 27. Towards a bacterial origin of irritable bowel syndrome

    Författare :Aldona Dlugosz; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Nyckelord :Chlamydia;

    Sammanfattning : Background: The irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) is one of the most prevalent disorders and affects about 15% of the Swedish population. Patients with IBS suffer from abdominal pain and disturbed bowel function. Despite being so common, little is known about causality in IBS. LÄS MER

  3. 28. Cytokines in the nervous system with emphasis on interleukin-1 receptor-mediated activity

    Författare :Mircea Oprica; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Nyckelord :;

    Sammanfattning : Interleukin-1 (IL-1) is one of the most important pro-inflammatory cytokines and plays a pivotal role in the neuroinflammation associated with certain forms of neurodegeneration, such as epilepsy, cerebral ischemia, trauma, and Alzheimer's disease (AD). Also, it was suggested that IL-1 is involved in physiological processes, namely modulation of sleep, glucose and lipid metabolism, and neuroendocrine regulation, as well as modulation of learning and memory.
