6. Harnessing the power of model systems to investigate regulation of Anaplastic Lymphoma Kinase function
Sammanfattning : The anaplastic lymphoma kinase (ALK), initially identified as a translocation partner in anaplastic large cell lymphoma (ALCL), has been described in a number of tumors such as neuroblastoma. Neuroblastoma is a neural crest derived malignancy of the sympathetic nervous system. LÄS MER
7. The Serotonin Transporter and the Vesicular Monoamine Transporters During Development
Sammanfattning : In the present study, the mRNA encoding the serotonin transporter (5-HTT) and two isoforms of the vesicular monoamine transporters (VMAT1 and VMAT2) have been mapped in the rat throughout gestation and early postnatal development using in situ hybridization, RT PCR and immunohistochemistry. 5-HTT mRNA was found in serotonergic neurons and VMAT2 mRNA in all monoaminergic neurons from early gestation. LÄS MER
8. Identification and characterization of candidate genes for neuroblastoma development
Sammanfattning : Neuroblastoma (NB) is the most common tumor during infancy. It arises from undifferentiated cells in the sympathetic nervous system and is characterized by both clinical and genetic heterogeneity. One of the features of NBs with unfavorable outcome is loss on distal chromosome 1p. LÄS MER
9. The Neuroblastoma Genome and Epigenome - Patient Stratification and Identification of Candidate Genes
Sammanfattning : Neuroblastoma (NB) is a tumor of the sympathetic nervous system, and the most common extracranial tumor of childhood. The prognosis for high-stage NBs is still poor, with survival rates of about 35%. Side-effects of treatment in these young children can also be severe. LÄS MER
10. Genetic studies of neuroblastoma with emphasis on the apoptotic pathway
Sammanfattning : Aim: The objective of this thesis was to find genes and chromosomal regions involved in neuroblastoma (NB) tumor progression. NB is a childhood tumor of the sympathetic nervous system that generally occurs spontaneously. LÄS MER
