  1. 16. Being Multisituated : Characterizing laptoping in networked situations

    Författare :Tomas Lindroth; Magnus Bergquist; Ulrika Lundh Snis; Högskolan Väst; []
    Nyckelord :SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Laptoping; laptoper; interaction order; actor-network theory; networked situation; multisituationism.; Informatik; Informatics; laptoping; laptoper; interaction order; actor-network theory; networked situation; multisituation;

    Sammanfattning : During the last 30 years mobile IT has gone from being an exotic ingredient to an everyday artifact. This thesis presents an ethnographic study of laptop use in a university setting. The thesis concludes that it is no longer enough to describe the use of portable IT as an activity in its own right, i.e. LÄS MER

  2. 17. Fundamental Limitations of Distributed Feedback Control in Large-Scale Networks

    Författare :Emma Tegling; Henrik Sandberg; Ali Jadbabaie; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Distributed control; Large-scale systems; networked control; decentralized control; fundamental limitations; networked systems; frequency control; smart grid; consensus; spatial invariance; power system dynamics; microgrids; vehicular formation systems; Electrical Engineering; Elektro- och systemteknik;

    Sammanfattning : Networked systems accomplish global behaviors through local feedback interactions. The purpose of a distributed control design is to select interaction rules and control protocols that achieve desired global control objectives. LÄS MER

  3. 18. Design, Implementation and Validation of Resource-Aware and Resilient Wireless Networked Control Systems

    Författare :José Araújo; Karl H. Johansson; Jan Lunze; KTH; []

    Sammanfattning : Networked control over wireless networks is of growing importance in many application domains such as industrial control, building automation and transportation systems. Wide deployment however, requires systematic design tools to enable efficient resource usage while guaranteeing close-loop control performance. LÄS MER

  4. 19. Development and evaluation of methods for control and modelling of multiple-input multiple-output systems

    Författare :Fredrik Bengtsson; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Input-output scaling; Modeling; Fiber length; Tensile Index; Hold-input; Decentralized control; Gramian based measures; Delays; LQG control; TMP; Uncertain data sets; Unreliable communication links; MIMO systems; Control configuration selection; Linear regression; Freeness; Shives; CTMP;

    Sammanfattning : In control, a common type of system is the multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) system, where the same input may affect multiple outputs, or conversely, the same output is affected by multiple inputs. In this thesis two methods for controlling MIMO systems are examined, namely linear quadratic Gaussian (LQG) control and decentralized control, and some of the difficulties associated with them. 5. 20. Adaptive management for networked systems

    Författare :Alberto Gonzalez Prieto; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Telecommunication; Telekommunikation;

    Sammanfattning : As networked systems grow in size and dynamicity, management systems must become adaptive to changing networking conditions. The focus of the work presented in this thesis is on developing engineering principles for adaptive management systems. We investigate three problems in the context of adaptive management for networked systems. LÄS MER
