16. Dendritic morphology and ultimate tensile strength of pearlitic lamellar graphite iron
Sammanfattning : The continued development, of cylinder blocks and cylinder heads for heavy truck engines that are made of lamellar graphite iron (LGI) is focused on achieving high ultimate tensile strength (UTS) whilst conforming to environmental regulations. The purpose of this work is to further improve the tensile strength as well as the predictive engineering tools for optimization of LGI aimed to enhance the efforts for producing lighter and sustainable components without sacrificing performance. 17. Urban Growth Modeling Based on Land-use Changes and Road Network Expansion
Sammanfattning : A city is considered as a complex system. It consists of numerous interactivesub-systems and is affected by diverse factors including governmental landpolicies, population growth, transportation infrastructure, and market behavior. LÄS MER
18. Barnacle Bioadhesive Bonding Formation, Strength and Control
Sammanfattning : The current technology for keeping ship hulls free of marine biofouling requires the use of toxic compounds such as copper, organic biocides and tributyl tin (TBT). The compounds that are released have been shown to have negative effects on non-target organisms, and a worldwide ban of TBT is currently being introduced. LÄS MER
19. Compression-moulded and multifunctional cellulose network materials
Sammanfattning : Cellulose-based materials are widely used in a number of important applications (e.g. paper, wood, textiles). Additional developments are suggested by the growing interest for natural fibre-based composite and nanocomposite materials. LÄS MER
20. On Radio Wave Propagation Measurements and Modelling for Cellular Mobile Radio Networks
Sammanfattning : To support the continuously increasing number of mobile telephone users around the world, mobile communication systems have become more advanced and sophisticated in their designs. As a result of the great success with the second generation mobile radio networks, deployment of the third and development of fourth generations, the demand for higher data rates to support available services, such as internet connection, video telephony and personal navigation systems, is ever growing.
