  1. 1. On the Secure and Resilient Design of Connected Vehicles: Methods and Guidelines

    Författare :Thomas Rosenstatter; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; security; secure communication; V2X; cyber-physical systems; resilience; in-vehicle network; automotive;

    Sammanfattning : Vehicles have come a long way from being purely mechanical systems to systems that consist of an internal network of more than 100 microcontrollers and systems that communicate with external entities, such as other vehicles, road infrastructure, the manufacturer’s cloud and external applications. This combination of resource constraints, safety-criticality, large attack surface and the fact that millions of people own and use them each day, makes securing vehicles particularly challenging as security practices and methods need to be tailored to meet these requirements. 2. 2. Automotive Communication Security Methods and Recommendations for Securing In-vehicle and V2X Communications

    Författare :Nasser Nowdehi; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; V2X; security; automotive; vehicular communication; in-vehicle network;

    Sammanfattning : Today’s vehicles contain approximately more than 100 interconnected computers (ECUs), several of which will be connected to the Internet or external devices and networks around the vehicle. In the near future vehicles will extensively communicate with their environment via Vehicle to Vehicle (V2V) and Vehicle to Infrastructure (V2I), together called V2X communications. LÄS MER

  3. 3. DDRNoC: Dual Data-Rate Network-on-Chip

    Författare :Ahsen Ejaz; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Network-on-Chip; On-Chip Interconnect; Dual Data-Rate; Multiprocessor System-on-Chip; Chip Multiprocessors; System-on-Chip;

    Sammanfattning : Networks-on-Chip (NoCs) are becoming increasing important for the performance of modern multi-core system-on-chip. For various on-chip networks with virtual channel (VC) ow control, the slow control logic (VC and switch allocation logic) of the NoC routers limits the NoC clock period while their datapath (switch and link) possesses signifcant slack. 4. 4. Dual Data Rate Network-on-Chip Architectures

    Författare :Ahsen Ejaz; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Dual Data-Rate; Network-on-Chip; System-on-Chip; On-Chip Interconnect; Chip Multiprocessors; Multiprocessor System-on-Chip;

    Sammanfattning : Networks-on-Chip (NoCs) are becoming increasing important for the performance of modern multi-core systems-on-chip. The performance of current NoCs is limited, among others, by two factors: their limited clock frequency and long router pipeline. The clock frequency of a network defines the limits of its saturation throughput. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Accelerating Distributed Storage in Heterogeneous Settings

    Författare :Waleed Reda; Dejan Kostic; Peter Van Roy; Marco Chiesa; Adam Morrison; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Distributed storage; File systems; Hardware offload; Persistent memory; Distribuerad lagring; Dilsystem; Maskinvaruavlastning; Beständigt minne; Computer Science; Datalogi;

    Sammanfattning : Heterogeneity in cloud environments is a fact of life—from workload skews and network path changes, to the diversity of server hardware components, these are all factors that impact the performance of distributed storage. In this dissertation, we identify that heterogeneity can in fact be one of the primary causes of service degradation for storage systems. LÄS MER
