  1. 6. Impact of renal dysfunction on serum Prostate-Specific Antigen

    Författare :Laila Bruun; Internmedicin - epidemiologi; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Urologi; hK2; Urology; intra-individual variation; elimination; peritoneal dialysis; renal dysfunction; kidney transplantation; hemodialysis; nefrologi; nephrology; PSA;

    Sammanfattning : Measurement of prostate-specific antigen (PSA) in blood is an important tool in detection for prostate cancer. PSA occurs in several molecular forms in blood: mainly as a free form with a molecular mass of 28 kDa; and as PSA complexed to alpha-1-antichymotrypsin, complexed PSA, with a molecular mass of 90 kDa. 2. 7. Capillary and interstitial transport of fluid and solutes across the peritoneal membrane

    Författare :Ola Carlsson; Institutionen för experimentell medicinsk vetenskap; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; vascular resistance.; capillary pressure; aquaporins; Capillary permeability; vesicular transport; Urology; nephrology; Urologi; nefrologi;

    Sammanfattning : According to the three-pore model of peritoneal transport the major exchange pathway between the blood and the peritoneal cavity is represented by “small pores”, permeable to small solutes and water. Osmotically induced fluid flow, as during peritoneal dialysis (PD), is postulated to occur to a great extent through a water-only pathway, whereas proteins are predicted to reach the peritoneal cavity by unidirectional convection across “large pores”. 3. 8. Bladder exstrophy : Clinical and experimental aspects

    Författare :Christina Clementson Kockum; Lund Pediatrik; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Pediatri; Bladder exstrophy. Children. Urinary diversion. Menthal health.; Pediatrics; Urology; nephrology; Urologi; nefrologi;

    Sammanfattning : Bladder exstrophy is a complex malformation seen in 1/30 000. Most children are subject to repeated operations, including pelvic osteotomy, genital and bladder neck reconstruction and sometimes bladder augmentation or a urinary reservoir, to achieve continence and a normal genital function. 4. 9. Alpha-1-antitrypsin deficiency (PiZ): Clinical studies with special regard to hepatic and vasculitic disorders

    Författare :Abdul-Nasser Elzouki; Malmö Institutionen för kliniska vetenskaper; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Gastro-enterology; systemic vasculitis; small-vessel vasculitis; serpins; genetic hemochromatosis; chronic hepatitis C; chronic liver disease; Alpha-1-antitrypsin deficiency; alpha-1-antichymotrypsin deficiency; Gastroenterologi; Urology; nephrology; Urologi; nefrologi;

    Sammanfattning : Homozygous alpha-1-antitrypsin (AAT)deficiency (PiZZ) is known to predispose to emphysema and chronic liver disease (CLD). The overall aim of the studies upon which this thesis is based was to investigate extra-pulmonary disease manifestations of AAT deficiency with special reference to hepatic and vasculitic disorders. 5. 10. Experimental Bladder Reconstruction

    Författare :Hans Frederiksen; Urologi; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Urology; smooth muscle; detrusor; matrix; nerves; subtotal cystectomy; bladder regeneration; enterocystoplasty; nephrology; Urologi; nefrologi;

    Sammanfattning : Reduced urinary bladder capacity is a clinically significant problem. The surgical methods that have been available to treat this, such as urinary diversion or surgically augmenting the bladder by incorporation of intestinal segments, all have serious drawbacks. LÄS MER
