  1. 1. The Dawn of a New Age : Interrelationships of Acoela and Nemertodermatida and the Early Evolution of Bilateria

    Författare :Andreas Wallberg; Ulf Jondelius; Mikael Thollesson; Graham Budd; Gonzalo Giribet; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Acoela; Nemertodermatida; Bilateria; Metazoa; evolution; phylogenetic inferrence; ancestral reconstruction; taxon sampling; microRNA; Systematics and phylogenetics; Systematik och fylogeni; systematisk zoologi; Systematic Zoology;

    Sammanfattning : Deciphering the rapid emergence of bilaterian animals around the time of the Cambrian Explosion and reconstructing the interrelationships of animal groups have long been two of the most elusive problems in Zoology. This thesis concerns the phylogenetic interrelationships within and among Acoela and Nemertodermatida, two groups of small worms that are believed to be basal bilaterians and which may provide important clues for understanding the early evolution of animals. Sammanfattning : The plant life of north-east Africa and Arabiahas received much interest in recent years, a fact illustrated by the various ongoing flora projects in the region, e.g., the Flora of Ethiopia and Eritrea, Flora of Somalia and Flora of Arabia. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Black Truffles of Sweden : Systematics, Population Studies, Ecology and Cultivation of Tuber aestivum syn. T. uncinatum

    Författare :Christina Wedén; Leif Tibell; Eric Danell; James M. Trappe; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Biology; Tuber aestivum; Tuber uncinatum; Tuber mesentericum; ITS; spore reticulum; truffle cultivation; island ecology; populations; morphology; ecotype; Quercus robur; Biologi; Biology; Biologi;

    Sammanfattning : Tuber aestivum is an ectomycorrhizal ascomycete with underground fruit bodies. It is an economically important species, but has been regarded as endangered in Sweden. My inventory has increased the number of reported localities from 3 to 31. It has long been debated whether T. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Contributions to the understanding of diversity and evolution in the genus Coreomyces

    Författare :Henrik Sundberg; Stefan Ekman; Åsa Kruys; Donald H. Pfister; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; ascomycetes; Coreomyces; Corixidae. Sammanfattning : The Laboulbeniales is an order of enigmatic ascomycete fungi that are obligate microscopic parasites of arthropods, which are usually non-detrimental. They typically display a high degree of host specificity, and the genus Coreomyces, which is the recurring theme of this thesis, is no exception. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Desert Plants and Deserted Islands : Systematics and Ethnobotany in Caryophyllaceae

    Författare :Anneleen Kool; Mats Thulin; Gudrun Kadereit; Uppsala universitet; []

    Sammanfattning : Background. Caryophyllaceae is a large and cosmopolitic flowering plant family, however the systematics of many of its basal groups has been unclear, due to a lack of unambiguous morphology. Some members of Caryophyllaceae are used medicinally, e.g. LÄS MER
