  1. 1. Situation awareness in pervasive computing systems : reasoning, verification, prediction

    Författare :Andrey Boytsov; Christian Becker; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; situation awareness; context awareness; pervasive computing; ubiquitous computing; context prediction; Pervasive Mobile Computing; Distribuerade datorsystem;

    Sammanfattning : The paradigm of pervasive computing aims to integrate the computing technologies in a graceful and transparent manner, and make computing solutions available anywhere and at any time. Different aspects of pervasive computing, like smart homes, smart offices, social networks, micromarketing applications, PDAs are becoming a part of everyday life. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Methodology and Infrastructure for Statistical Computing in Genomics : Applications for Ancient DNA

    Författare :Kristiina Ausmees; Carl Nettelblad; Mattias Jakobsson; Flora Jay; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; statistical computing; genotype imputation; ancient DNA; deep learning; dimensionality reduction; genetic clustering; distributed computing; Scientific Computing; Beräkningsvetenskap;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis concerns the development and evaluation of computational methods for analysis of genetic data. A particular focus is on ancient DNA recovered from archaeological finds, the analysis of which has contributed to novel insights into human evolutionary and demographic history, while also introducing new challenges and the demand for specialized methods. 3. 3. Scientific Computing on Multicore Architectures

    Författare :Martin Tillenius; Elisabeth Larsson; Sverker Holmgren; Jakub Kurzak; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; multicore; scientific computing; shared memory parallelism; task-based programming; parallel programming model; task scheduling; data versioning; Beräkningsvetenskap; Scientific Computing;

    Sammanfattning : Computer simulations are an indispensable tool for scientists to gain new insights about nature. Simulations of natural phenomena are usually large, and limited by the available computer resources. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Computing at the speed of paper : ubiquitous computing environments for healthcare professionals

    Författare :Magnus Bång; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Computer science; Datavetenskap;

    Sammanfattning : Despite the introduction of computers in most work environments, the anticipated paperless workplace has not yet emerged. Research has documented that material objects are essential in the organization of thought and that they support everyday collaborative processes performed by staff members. LÄS MER

    Sammanfattning : During the early 1990s, a novel style of programming often referred to as component-oriented programming quickly grew popular as the state-of-the-art in graphical user interface and client/server development on Windows-based personal computers, largely in competition with object-oriented programming, a partly similar, partly different programming paradigm, with which component-orientation is often compared, combined, and confused. Also during the 1990s, the world-wide web spread its arachnoid gossamer over the globe with deep-ranging ramifications for software component technology. LÄS MER
