Sammanfattning : The study deals with the life stories of six women and four men who were born in Germany and who now live in Sweden. Its purpose is to examine the histories of those who grew up in Germany during and after the Nazi era, their descriptions of their lives and experiences during childhood and adolescence, and how they regard their encounters with Swedish people, and the ways in which these encounters have affected their ways of describing the growth of their attachment to this country. Sammanfattning : This study focuses on some of the mechanisms that can create readerly ambiguity in the representation of “consciousness” (in this context understood as “mental activity”) in Ramón Hernández’ novel Pido la muerte al rey, which revolves around the life of psychiatric patient Gontrán Zaldívar. One kind of ambiguity arises from the constant shift between the autodiegetic and the heterodiegetic narrators in the novel. LÄS MER

Sammanfattning : This thesis explores how politically active Mayan women in 1995, at the close of the armed conflict in Guatemala, speak about their in/security as Mayan, women, and poor.
