    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; hole-mask colloidal lithography; enthalpy of formation; palladium nanoparticles and nanocrystals; metal-hydrogen interactions; shrinking-hole colloidal lithography; localized surface plasmon resonance; dark field scattering spectroscopy; single particle spectroscopy; nanoscale effects; plasmonic sensors;

    Sammanfattning : Localized surface plasmon resonance (LSPR) is a phenomenon of collective oscillation of conduction electrons in metal nanoparticles smaller than the wavelength of light that is used for its excitation. Plasmonic metal nanoparticles are able to confine light to extremely small volumes around them, i.e. below the diffraction limit. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Plasmonic Nanostructures for Optical Absorption Engineering and Hydrogen Sensing

    Författare :Carl Wadell; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; photocatalysis; metal hydride; alloy nanoparticles; palladium; absorption engineering; plasmon enhanced chemistry; nanoplasmonic sensing; nanoparticle size effects; localized surface plasmon resonance; hydrogen sensing;

    Sammanfattning : Nanoplasmonics concerns the interactions between light and metal nanoparticles. In this thesis nanoplasmonics is used in two different ways: i) to control and enhance light absorption, and ii) for optical hydrogen sensing. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Health-related aerosol particle studies, respiratory tract deposition and indoor source identification

    Författare :Jakob Löndahl; Kärnfysik; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; aerosol particle; health; ultrafine particles; nanoparticle; deposition; respiratory tract; Fysicumarkivet A:000;

    Sammanfattning : Aerosol particles have, since Classical Antiquity, been linked to adverse effects on human health. It is estimated that the particles in urban air pollution causes 100 000 deaths in Europe each year, whereof 5 000 in Sweden. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Multicomponent Resonant Nanostructures: Plasmonic and Photothermal Effects

    Författare :Vadim Zakomirnyi; Hans Ågren; Zilvinas Rinkevicius; Sergey Karpov; Davy Gérard; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :plasmonics; photonics; nanoparticles; Teoretisk kemi och biologi; Theoretical Chemistry and Biology;

    Sammanfattning : In recent decades, plasmonic nanoparticles have attracted considerable attention due to their ability to localize electromagnetic energy at a scale much smaller than the wavelength of optical radiation. The study of optical plasmon waveguides (OPWs) in the form of chains of nanoparticles is important for modern photonics. LÄS MER
