  1. 1. Microfibrillated cellulose : Energy-efficient preparation techniques and key properties

    Författare :Mikael Ankerfors; Lars Wågberg; Minna Hakkarainen; Paul Gatenholm; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Microfibrillated cellulose; microfibrillar cellulose; nanofibrillated cellulose nanofibrillar cellulose; nanocellulose; MFC; NFC; production techniques; energy efficient; gel properties; films; enzymes; carboxymethylation; carboxymethyl cellulose; CMC; mechanical properties; oxygen barrier; homogenization;

    Sammanfattning : This work describes three alternative processes for producing microfibrillated cellulose (MFC) in which pulp fibres are first pre-treated and then homogenized using a high-pressure homogenizer. In one process, fibre cell wall delamination was facilitated with a combined enzymatic and mechanical pre-treatment. LÄS MER

    Sammanfattning : This work describes three alternative processes for producing microfibrillated cellulose (MFC; also referred to as cellulose nanofibrils, CNF) in which bleached pulp fibres are first pretreated and then homogenized using a high-pressure homogenizer. In one process, fibre cell wall delamination was facilitated by a combined enzymatic and mechanical pretreatment. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Tailored layer-by-layer films of nanofibrillated cellulose

    Författare :Erdem Karabulut; Lars Wågberg; Lennart Piculell; Eva Blomberg; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :layer-by-layer assembly; nanofibrillated cellulose; thin film; surface adsorption; polyelectrolytes;

    Sammanfattning : The preparation of multifunctional films, coatings and membranes from natural, sustainable and low-cost raw materials has attracted considerable interest during the last decade. In this respect, cellulose-based products possess a great promise for research and industry due both to the availability of large amounts of material in nature and to the preparation of new classes of nano-sized and well-characterized building-blocks of cellulose from trees or annual plants. 4. 4. Nanofiber networks, aerogels and biocomposites based on nanofibrillated cellulose from wood

    Författare :Houssine Sehaqui; Lars A. Berglund; Ton Peijs; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Nanofibrillated cellulose; nanopaper; nanofiber; biocomposites; aerogel; foam; Materials science; Teknisk materialvetenskap;

    Sammanfattning : Nanofibrillated cellulose (NFC) from wood is an interesting material constituent of high strength and high aspect ratio, which easily forms networks through interfibril secondary bonding including hydrogen bonds. This has been exploited in preparation of new materials, which extend the range of properties for existing cellulosic materials. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Flexible and Cellulose-based Organic Electronics

    Författare :Jesper Edberg; Magnus Berggren; Isak Engquist; Leif Nyholm; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Organic electronics; conductive polymers; nanocellulose; nanofibrillated cellulose; composite materials; paper electronics; flexible electronics;

    Sammanfattning : Organic electronics is the study of organic materials with electronic functionality and the applications of such materials. In the 1970s, the discovery that polymers can be made electrically conductive led to an explosion within this field which has continued to grow year by year. LÄS MER
