  1. 1. Chemical signalling in the Drosophila brain : GABA, short neuropeptide F and their receptors

    Författare :Lina E. Enell; Dick Nässel; Jonathan Bacon; Stockholms universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Insect nervous system; Drosophila; GABA; sNPF; GPCR; ion channel receptor; feeding; metabolic stress; olfaction; antennal; lobe; mushroom body; Morphology; Morfologi; funktionell morfologi; Functional Zoomorphology;

    Sammanfattning : Gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA) and short neuropeptide F (sNPF) are widespread signalling molecules in the brain of insects. In order to understand more about the signalling and to some extent start to unravel the functional roles of these two substances, this study has examined the locations of the transmitters and their receptors in the brain of the fruit fly Drosophila melanogaster using immunocytochemistry in combination with Gal4/UAS technique. 2. 2. Regulatory proteins and the regulation of immune response in Drosophila melanogaster

    Författare :Erik Roos; Åsa Rasmuson-Lestander; Stockholms universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Molecular biology; Molekylärbiologi; Molecular Biology; molekylärbiologi;

    Sammanfattning : Insect antibacterial peptides are regulated at the transcriptional level. The otherwise silent antibacterial Cecropin genes are strongly induced upon bacterial challenge. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Polyporoid fungi of Tanzania : Taxonomy, transcriptomics and biochemical analyses of Kusaghiporia usambarensis and Piptoporellus baudonii

    Författare :Juma Mahmud Hussein; Sanja Tibell Savić; Donatha Tibuhwa; Christina Wedén; Ulf Göransson; Jan Stenlid; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Systematics; Laetiporaceae; pharmacognosy; cysteine-rich peptide; baudonii; Biology with specialization in Systematics; Biologi med inriktning mot systematik;

    Sammanfattning : Polyporoid fungi refers to basidiomycetes with fruiting bodies with the hymenium located to the inner surfaces of pores or narrow tubes. The majority of polyporoids belongs to Polyporales. Most Polyporales are saprobes, but some are plant pathogens. LÄS MER
