  1. 1. Physical load, psychosocial and individual factors in visual display unit work

    Författare :Jens Wahlström; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; computer work; musculoskeletal symptoms; working; technique; psychosocial factors; physical load; muscular tension; mental; stress;

    Sammanfattning : The overall aim of this thesis was to explore associations between physicalload, psychosocial and individual factors in visual display unit (VDU)work. Furthermore, the aim was to investigate whether perceived musculartension is a predictor of neck pain among VDU operators. LÄS MER

  2. 2. The child with tension-type headache. Physical factors and interactive interventions

    Författare :Birte Tornöe; Institutionen för hälsovetenskaper; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Empowering patient education; headache; child; health; neck and shoulder muscles; muscular fitness; cardiovascular fitness and physiotherapy;

    Sammanfattning : Tension-type headache (TTH) in children and especially girls is a prevalent problem worldwide, and means there is a risk of school absenteeism, medication overuse and persistent headache. Knowledge about the associated physical factors is limited, as is knowledge on evidence based interventions. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Working technique during computer work Associations with biomechanical and psychological strain, neck and upper extremity musculoskeletal symptoms

    Författare :Agneta Lindegård Andersson; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Nyckelord :Working technique; Computer users; Perceived exertion; Observation assessments;

    Sammanfattning : About 35 % of the working population in Sweden report that computer use accounts for 50% or more of their total working hours. Among this population approximately 40% of the women and 25% of the men experienced symptoms in the neck and/or upper extremities at least once a week during the preceding 3 month. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Muscle Thixotropy : Implications for Human Motor Control

    Författare :Hans Axelson; Karl-Erik Hagbarth; Mikael Elam; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Neurosciences; Motor control; Skeletal muscle; Thixotropy; History-dependent; EMG; Voluntary contractions; Neurovetenskap; Neurology; Neurologi;

    Sammanfattning : Human skeletal muscles possess thixotropic, i.e. history-dependent mechanical properties. This means that the degree of passive muscle stiffness and resting tension is dependent on the immediately preceding history of contractions and length changes. LÄS MER

  5. 5. In vitro contracture testing for the diagnosis of malignant hyperthermia susceptibility

    Författare :Gunilla Islander; Anestesiologi och intensivvård; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; intensive care; Anestesiologi; Anaesthesiology; specificity; IVCT; Malignant hyperthermia susceptibility; skeletal muscle; inheritance pattern; sensitivity; reproducibility; intensivvård;

    Sammanfattning : Malignant hyperthermia (MH) susceptibility is a rare inherited muscular disorder, which may cause a lethal increase in metabolism during anaesthesia with certain commonly used anaesthetic. Susceptible individuals are without any signs or symptoms. It is important to identify individuals at risk, since the MH reaction is preventable. LÄS MER
