  1. 21. Household food waste management – Evaluations of current status and potential improvements using life-cycle assessment methodology

    Författare :Anna Bernstad; Avdelningen för kemiteknik; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; waste management; household waste; food waste; life-cycle assessment; anaerobic digestion; systems analysis;

    Sammanfattning : An increased understanding of the world’s limited resources and the negative environmental impacts connected to solid waste management has in recent years increased interest in separate collection and treatment of organic waste in many parts of the world. As an example, increased biological treatment of organic waste is an explicit goal within the Swedish national solid waste management strategy (SEPA, 2006) and the national environmental objectives state that 35% of all organic household waste should be treated biologically by 2010 (SEPA, 2007). 2. 22. Dioxin emissions from small-scale combustion of bio-fuel and household waste

    Författare :Björn Hedman; Stellan Marklund; Calle Nilsson; Brian Gullett; Umeå universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Source-sorted waste; Household waste; Textile; Biofuel; Firewood; Pellets; Combustion; Wood boiler; Pellet boiler; Backyard burning; Garden waste; PCDD F; dioxin; PCB; Emission factor; Källsorterat avfall; Hushållsavfall; Textil; Biobränsle; Ved; Pellets; Förbränning; Vedpanna; Pelletpanna; Trädgårdsavfall; PCDD F; dioxin; PCB; Emissionsfaktor; Environmental chemistry; Miljökemi;

    Sammanfattning : Denna avhandling behandlar rökgasutsläpp av persistenta organiska föroreningar, framförallt dioxiner, vid förbränning av fasta biobränslen och torrt hushållsavfall i relativt små anläggningar (5-600 kW) utan avancerad rökgasreningsteknik.Samförbränning av avfall och biobränsle i effektiva mindre biobränslepannor testades som en alternativ strategi till den vanligen förekommande storskaliga hanteringen och förbränningen fast hushållsavfall. 3. 23. Environmental assessment of municipal solid waste incinerator bottom ash in road constructions

    Författare :Susanna Olsson; Jon Petter Gustafsson; Dan Berggren; Erik Kärrman; Bo Bergbäck; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; bottom ash; environmental impact; LCA; waste management; leaching; copper; dissolved organic carbon; Environmental chemistry; Miljökemi;

    Sammanfattning : There are several incentives for using bottom ash from municipal solid waste incineration (MSWI bottom ash) as a construction material, such as for road construction. These incentives include decreased disposal of material on landfills and a reduced amount of raw material extracted for road building purposes. LÄS MER

  5. 25. Environmental and Economic Assessment of Swedish Municipal Solid Waste Management in a Systems Perspective

    Författare :Ola Eriksson; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; waste management; LCA; LCC; systems analysis; decisionmaking; computer model;

    Sammanfattning : Waste management is something that affects most people. Thewaste amounts are still increasing, but the waste treatment ischanging towards recycling and integrated solutions. In Swedenproducers’responsibility for different products, a taxand bans on deposition of waste at landfills implicates areorganisation of the municipal solid waste management. LÄS MER
