  1. 16. Gasification and Pyrolysis Characterization and Heat Transfer Phenomena During Thermal Conversion of Municipal Solid Waste

    Författare :Chunguang Zhou; Weihong Yang; Wlodzimierz Blasiak; Petr Stehlik; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; municipal solid waste; pyrolysis; gasification; heat transfer; CaO; CO2; reforming; numerical model; Energy Technology; Energiteknik; Chemical Engineering; Kemiteknik;

    Sammanfattning : The significant generation of municipal solid waste (MSW) has become a controversial global issue. Pyrolysis and gasification technologies for treating rejects from solid waste disposal sites (SWDSs), for which over 50 % of MSW is attributed to combustible species, have attracted considerable attention. 2. 17. Järnmalm, ödehus och framtidstro : En studie om kommunal planering i norrländsk landsbygd

    Författare :Ida Nilsson; Ebba Högström; Lina Berglund-Snodgrass; Mattias Qviström; Blekinge Tekniska Högskola; []
    Nyckelord :ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; planning; rural north; place-based recourses; public interest; desire; assemblage; Fysisk planering; Spatial Planning;

    Sammanfattning : Municipal planning concerns supporting broader socio-economic interests that are linked to place-based resources, whilst promoting local development for the inhabitants. By protecting and utilizing the resources, it is assumed that they will benefit the wider society rather than an individual actor or interest – the resources become public socio-economic interests. 3. 18. Enhanced biogas production from municipal WWTPs : Co-digestion of microalgae with sewage sludge and thermophilic secondary digestion of mesophilic digested sludge

    Författare :Jesper Olsson; Eva Thorin; Emma Nehrenheim; Raúl Muñoz Torre; Mälardalens högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Energy- and Environmental Engineering; energi- och miljöteknik;

    Sammanfattning : Biogas is produced when organic material is broken down in oxygen-free (anaerobic) conditions. This process is called anaerobic digestion and is used in most large and medium-sized municipal wastewater treatment plants in Sweden. LÄS MER

  4. 19. Assessment of existing and potential developments of district-heating systems

    Författare :Elsa Fahlén; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; biofuel; external costs; combined heat and power; socio-economic cost-effectiveness; district heating; ExternE; social costs; MARTES; bio transport fuel; biomass gasification;

    Sammanfattning : District heating (DH) may play an important role for achieving the EU goal of a secure, competitive and sustainable energy supply. DH benefits from the possibilities of utilising local resources such as municipal solid waste and other low-quality fuels, as well as low-cost waste heat from industries and from combined heat and power plants (CHP). 5. 20. Denitrification in a Non-nitrifying Activated Sludge System Employing Recirculation from a Tertiary Nitrification Unit

    Författare :Ann Mattsson; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; nitrogen removal; denitrification; activated sludge; post nitrification; pilot plant;

    Sammanfattning : A non-nitrifying, denitrifying activated sludge system has been demonstrated to give high denitrification rates and to be a useful component in a municipal wastewater treatment plant where partial nitrogen removal is required. One useful configuration is where clarified effluent from a non-nitrifying activated sludge system is nitrified in a tertiary nitrification unit and recirculated to the activated sludge system for denitrification.
