    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; AHSCT; HSCT; hematopoietic stem cell transplantation; multiple sclerosis; RRMS; inflammation; biomarkers; АТГСК; ТГСК; Трансплантация гемопоэтических стволовых клеток; рассеянный склероз; воспаление; биомаркеры; AHSCT; HSCT; Hematopoetisk stamcellstransplantation; multipel skleros; RRMS; inflammation; biomarkör; Medicinsk vetenskap; Medical Science;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis investigated the efficacy and safety of autologous hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (AHSCT) as a treatment of multiple sclerosis. This thesis demonstrates that when compared to one of the most powerful disease-modifying drugs (DMDs), specifically alemtuzumab (ALZ), AHSCT is able to hold its ground. Sammanfattning : Background: Multiple Sclerosis (MS) is a chronic, inflammatory, autoimmune disease, affecting the central nervous system (CNS). About 85% of afflicted present with a relapsing-remitting form of the disease (RRMS), for which a breakthrough in treatment was made in 2008 with rituximab, an antibody directed towards CD20, a surface antigen on B-cells. 4. 4. Omic Network Modules in Complex diseases

    Författare :Tejaswi Venkata Satya Badam; Mika Gustafsson; Zelmina Lubovac-Pilav; Maja Jagodic; Sergio Baranzini; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES;

    Sammanfattning : Biological systems encompass various molecular entities such as genes, proteins, and other biological molecules, including interactions among those components. Understanding a given phenotype, the functioning of a cell or tissue, aetiology of disease, or cellular organization, requires accurate measurements of the abundance profiles of these molecular entities in the form of biomedical data.
