  1. 21. Comparative Study of Chemical Additives Effects on Dry Grinding Performance

    Författare :Vitalis Chipakwe; Saeed Chehreh Chelgani; Jan Rosenkranz; Tommy Karlkvist; Kirsten Claire Corin; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Energy; Grinding aid; Flowability; Dry grinding; FT4 Powder Rheometer; Surface properties; Mineral Processing; Mineralteknik;

    Sammanfattning : The application of chemical additives, known as grinding aids (GA), dates back to 1930 in the cement industry. As opposed to the cement industry, where the use of GAs is on the final processing step, it could be one of the first process steps in ore beneficiation. LÄS MER

  2. 22. Fire history in the hemiboreal and southern boreal zones of southern Sweden during 11000 years : Relationships with past vegetation composition and human activities and implications for biodiversity issues

    Författare :Qiao-Yu Cui; Marie-José Gaillard; Boris Vannière; Linnéuniversitetet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Fire history; land-use history; biodiversity; charcoal analysis; Landscape Reconstruction Algorithm LRA ; Holocene; Småland; Sweden; Paleoecology; Paleoekologi;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis studies fire history over the last 11 000 years (Holocene) in central Småland, southern Sweden, on the basis of palaeoecological analyses of peat sequences from three small bogs (Notteryd, Stavsåkra and Storasjö). The main objective is to gain insights into the long-term relationships between fire, climate, human-impact, other environmental factors and the history of biodiversity in the study region. LÄS MER

  3. 23. Numerical modeling of groundwater and air flow between compacted bentonite and fractured crystalline rock

    Författare :Benoît Dessirier; Jerker Jarsjö; Andrew Frampton; Stefan Finsterle; Stockholms universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Two-phase flow; porous media; fractured media; compacted bentonite; crystalline rock; numerical modeling; geological disposal; Physical Geography; naturgeografi;

    Sammanfattning : The geological repository for final storage of spent nuclear fuel, envisioned by the Swedish Nuclear Fuel and Management Company (SKB), relies on several barriers: copper canisters deposited in holes in the floor of underground tunnels in deep bedrock, embedded in a buffer of compacted bentonite. The initially unsaturated buffer would take up water from the surrounding rock mass and swell to seal any potential gap. LÄS MER

  4. 24. Combination of space-geodetic techniques in the era of VGOS and multi-GNSS

    Författare :Periklis Diamantidis; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Local Ties; EOP; Reference Systems; GNSS; VLBI; Combination on the Observation Level; multi-GNSS; Space Geodesy; VGOS;

    Sammanfattning : The definition and maintenance of accurate and stable Earth-fixed and inertial reference frames is crucial in studying, among else, geophysical and geodynamical phenomena, precise positioning, and space navigation. The tools used to this end are space-geodetic techniques, like e.g. LÄS MER

  5. 25. Exploring Strategies for the Combination of Multiple Space-geodetic Techniques

    Författare :Periklis Diamantidis; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Space Geodesy; GNSS; Combination on the Observation Level; EOP; Reference Systems; VLBI; Local Ties;

    Sammanfattning : Space-geodetic techniques are based on signal acquisition from extraterrestrial radio sources that can be used to infer geodetic positioning and define Earth-fixed and inertial reference systems. These techniques, which include Very Long Baseline Interferometry (VLBI) and Global Navigation Satellite Systems (GNSS) among others, exhibit different strengths and weaknesses in recovering parameters of interest.
