  1. 16. An integrated study of geological, magnetic and electromagnetic data for mineral exploration in the Jameson Land Basin, central East Greenland

    Författare :Anaïs Brethes; Thorkild Maack Rasmussen; Florian Wellmann; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; central East Greenland; Jameson Land Basin; base metal mineralization; geological structures; magnetic data; electromagnetic data; Prospekteringsgeofysik; Exploration Geophysics;

    Sammanfattning : The Jameson Land Basin, located in central East Greenland, initiated in Devonian time with the collapse of the over-thickened Caledonian Orogen. The basin developed during different phases of rifting from the late Paleozoic to the Mesozoic and has accumulated between 16-18 km of sediments. LÄS MER

  2. 17. The impact of loading-induced stress variation on the seismicity of active faults

    Författare :Yiting Cai; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; stress variation; Coulomb stress change; subduction zone; Seismicity;

    Sammanfattning : Surface loads such as the ocean, atmosphere, and continental water, constantly modify the stress field of the Earth’s crust. Most earthquakes occur at tectonic plate boundaries and such stress perturbations on the active faults at the plate boundaries may trigger earthquakes. LÄS MER

  3. 18. Towards a Scenario-based Spatial Dynamic Modeling for Predicting Urban Land Use Change : Planning Tools and Comparative Analysis

    Författare :Zipan Cai; Vladimir Cvetkovic; Fredrik Gröndahl; Brian Deal; Stan Geertman; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; urbanization; planning support system; spatial dynamic model; urban land use change; spatial analysis; human-land interaction; socioeconomics; ecological systems; urban amenities; environmental impact assessment; what-if; decision-making; urbanisering; planeringsstödsystem; rumslig dynamisk modell; förändring av stadsmarkanvändning; rumslig analys; mänsklig-land interaktion; socioekonomi; ekologiska system; urbana bekvämligheter; miljökonsekvensbeskrivning; vad-om; beslutsfattande; Mark- och vattenteknik; Land and Water Resources Engineering;

    Sammanfattning : As global urbanization progresses, cities worldwide are growing in size, which leads to many economic, environmental, and management challenges. Recent advancements in spatial data analysis and algorithmic geography have also led to the development of various urban model-based planning support systems (PSS) for urban planning. LÄS MER

  4. 19. The Asian monsoon - 50-7 ka BP

    Författare :Akkaneewut Chabangborn; Barbara Wohlfarth; Jenny Brendefelt; Ludvig Löwemark; Richard Gyllencreutz; Rodrigo Caballero; Stockholms universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES;

    Sammanfattning : The Asian monsoon is one of the largest climatic systems on Earth. It covers an area from the Arabian Sea to the South China Sea and from northern Australia to northern China with the world’s highest population density. Moreover, the Asian monsoon transports heat energy and humidity to higher latitudes. LÄS MER

  5. 20. Numerical ice sheet modeling : Forward and inverse problems

    Författare :Gong Cheng; Lina von Sydow; Per Lötstedt; Nina Kirchner; Irina Tezaur; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; ice sheet modeling; finite element method; grounding line migration; inverse problems; adjoint method; Scientific Computing; Beräkningsvetenskap;

    Sammanfattning : Ice sheets have strong influence on the climate system. Numerical simulation provides a mathematical tool to study the ice dynamics in the past and to predict their contribution to climate change in the future. Large scale ice sheets behave as incompressible non-Newtonian fluid. LÄS MER
