    Sammanfattning : This thesis describes various aspects of the development of a multi-disciplinary aero engine conceptual design tool, TERA2020 (Techno-economic, Environmental and Risk Assessment for 2020), based on an explicit algorithm that considers: engine performance, engine aerodynamic and mechanical design, aircraft design and performance, emissions prediction and environmental impact, engine and airframe noise, and production, maintenance and direct operating costs.As part of this research effort, a newly-derived semi-empirical NOx correlation for modern rich-burn single-annular combustors is proposed. 2. 17. Multi-agent Systems in Diabetic Health Care

    Författare :Peng Zhang; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; diabetic health care; Multi-agent Systems; General Systems Theory; Activity Theory; reactivity; proactivity; social activity; Knowledge Engineering;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis discusses how Multi-agent Systems (MAS) should be designed in the context of diabetic health care. Three fields are touched: computer science, socio-psychology and systems science. Agent Technology is the core technology in the research. LÄS MER

  3. 18. Comparing Procurement Methods in Road Construction Projects : Influence on Uncertainty, Interaction and Knowledge

    Författare :Robert Lundström; Martin Johanson; Amjad Hadjikhani; Jaana Tähtinen; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :Procurement methods; uncertainty; interaction; knowledge; construction; network; project; Business Studies; Företagsekonomi;

    Sammanfattning : The construction sector is often considered to show a number of limitations regarding efficiency and effectiveness, conclusions normally drawn irrespective of project procurement method used, and despite the common assumption that differences among approaches exist regarding these aspects. The study investigates differences and similarities among procurement methods using a longitudinal multi-case study based on two comparatively large infrastructure projects: a traditional so-called design-bid-build project and an unconventional so-called design-build-maintain project. 4. 19. Multi-Threaded Distributed System Simulations : Using Bi-Lateral Delay Lines

    Författare :Robert Braun; Petter Krus; Asko Ellman; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :;

    Sammanfattning : As the speed increase of single-core processors keeps declining, it is important to adapt simulation software to take advantage of multi-core technology. There is a great need for simulating large-scale systems with good performance. LÄS MER

  5. 20. Drömmen om det egna huset : Från bostadsförsörjning till livsprojekt

    Författare :Annika Almqvist; Jim Kemeny; Lena Jarlöv; Uppsala universitet; []

    Sammanfattning : Swedish housing research has disproportionately concentrated on the study of apartment blocks and on how to create functioning neighbourhoods and neighbourliness, as part of a national housing policy that aimed at building apartment blocks for ordinary families. Yet at the same time, most Swedish families with children have been choosing to live in an owner occupied house. LÄS MER
