1. Early identification of motor problems in very preterm infants : An evaluation of the Structured Observation of Motor Performance in Infants
Sammanfattning : Infants born very preterm are at risk of adverse neurodevelopment. It is important to identify motor problems early to initiate interventions aiming at ameliorating outcomes. Evaluating motor development in high-risk infants is a complex task. There is a need for assessment methods for early identification of abnormal motor performance. LÄS MER
2. Altered movement patterns and deviating muscular activity in individuals with anterior cruciate ligament injury
Sammanfattning : The purpose of this thesis was to increase the understanding of altered movement patterns in individuals with anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injury in order to improve ACL rehabilitation, and to develop an observational instrument termed Test for Substitution Patterns (TSP) for standardized, quantifiable scoring of altered movement patterns in legs and trunk. In all, 142 participants, 93 with ACL-rupture (37 women) and 49 uninjured participants were investigated. LÄS MER
3. Motion interactive games for children with motor disorders : motivation, physical activity, and motor control
Sammanfattning : As motion interactive games have become more widespread the interest in using these games in rehabilitation of children with motor disorders has increased among both clinical professionals and the families of these children. The general aim of this thesis was to evaluate the feasibility of using interactive games in rehabilitation of children to promote motivation for practice, physical activity, and motor control. 4. On-Engine Turbocharger Performance Considering Heat Transfer
Sammanfattning : Heat transfer plays an important role in affecting an on-engine turbocharger performance. However, it is normally not taken into account for turbocharged engine simulations. LÄS MER
5. Numerical and experimental study of performance of a hydraulic motor
Sammanfattning : The aim of this study was to develop an understanding of the fluid properties that influence the efficiency of hydraulic systems in a steady-state, especially components in hydrostatic transmission systems under different running conditions. The aim has also been to investigate and model the sources of losses in hydraulic machines, in order to estimate the losses, taking fluid properties into account. LÄS MER
