  1. 1. In conversation with simulation: The application of numerical simulation to the design of structural nodal connections

    Författare :Jens Olsson; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; HUMANIORA; HUMANITIES; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; HUMANIORA; HUMANITIES; 3D Printing; Design theory; Structural design; Structural efficiency; Simulation; Peridynamics; Force flux density; Nodal connections; Conceptual design; Steel structures; Design process; Digital design;

    Sammanfattning : The thesis explores methods for integration of structural analysis, design and production in a digital design environment. The somewhat ambiguous title implies the ambition to make such integration in relation to the explorative phase of the design process which is described by Donald Schön as having a conversational character. 2. 2. Designing for Peer Learning : Mathematics, Games and Peer Groups in Leisure-time Centers

    Författare :Åsa Harvard Maare; Sune Vork Steffensen; Kognitionsvetenskap; []
    Nyckelord :HUMANIORA; HUMANITIES; SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; Leisure-time centers; mathematics; embodied interaction; design research; motivation; observational learning; Leisure-time centers;

    Sammanfattning : Constrained by national tests and the mathematics curriculum, teachers have problems finding time for exploratory and hands-on mathematical activities, especially so in classes with a reduced pace of progression, for example because of a large proportion of second-language learners. Could the leisure-time center, where time is not earmarked, provide such opportunities? The conclusion of this thesis is that this can be done, on the condition that designed activities build on the central premise of the leisure-time center: children have the right to choose which activities to engage with. 3. 3. On textile printing with thermochromic inks

    Författare :Marjan Kooroshnia; Hanna Landin; Sara Robertson; Högskolan i Borås; []
    Nyckelord :HUMANIORA; HUMANITIES; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Textiles and Fashion Design ; Textil och mode konstnärlig ;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis describes an exploration of the principles of applying leuco dye-based inks to textile design practice. The main motivation has been to explore the design properties and potentials of leuco dye-based thermochromic inks when printed on textiles in order to obtain an understanding and facilitate the design of dynamic surface patterns. 4. 4. Affective motivation : Studies of its importance for entrepreneurial activities

    Författare :Adesuwa Omorede; Jukka Vesalainen; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Entreprenörskap och innovation; Entrepreneurship and Innovation;

    Sammanfattning : Motivation is a significant concept within the entrepreneurial process, referring to everything from identifying opportunities and generating or articulating ideas to evaluating opportunities and planning steps to form or launch an enterprise and then grow and develop that enterprise. Motivational drivers can be classified as non-affective (i.e. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Self-efficacy, Motivation and Approaches to Studying : A longitudinal study of Y and how engineering students perceive their studies and transition to work

    Sammanfattning : The aim of this thesis is to explore the experiences of four cohorts of students from their first semester until one year after graduation, with the focus on how they perceive their opportunities to influence their study conditions transition to work. The study has a longitudinal design. LÄS MER
