  1. 16. The high Arctic summer aerosol : Size, chemical composition, morphology and evolution over the pack-ice

    Författare :Evelyne Hamacher-Barth; Caroline Leck; Stephan Weinbruch; Stockholms universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Arctic; aerosol; marine gel; electron microscopy; EDX-spectroscopy; chemical composition; morphology; size distribution; atmosfärvetenskap och oceanografi; Atmospheric Sciences and Oceanography;

    Sammanfattning : Aerosol particles, especially in the high Arctic are still not very well represented in climate models. Particle size and number concentrations are strongly under-predicted and temporal variations of aerosol composition and size are still not very well understood, mainly due to the sparsity of observations. 2. 17. Structure, Morphology, and Catalytic Properties of CuOx/CeO2 Model Catalysts

    Författare :Björn Skårman; Centrum för analys och syntes; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Synchrotron radiation; High-energy Diffraction; X-ray Absorption Fine Structure Spectroscopy.; Chemical technology and engineering; Kemiteknik och kemisk teknologi; Chemistry; Kemi; Material technology; Materiallära; materialteknik; X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy; Atomic force microscopy; Gatan Image Filter GIF ; Energy-filtered TEM; High-resolution electron microscopy; Inert gas condensation IGC ; rf Magnetron sputtering; Thermal activation; Batch reactor; Carbon monoxide oxidation; Surface sensitivity; Catalytic anisotropy; Growth; Nucleation; Topography; Roughness; Core-shell structures; Morphology; Nanostructured; Nanocomposite; Nanoparticles; Surface structure; Polycrystalline surfaces; Thin films; Copper oxide; Cerium dioxide CeO2 ; Ceria;

    Sammanfattning : Cerium dioxide, or ceria, is a chemically stable oxygen ion conducting material with a capacity to store and release oxygen, and is therefore extensively used in combustion catalysts. The Cu-Ce-O system has been identified as one of the most active catalysts for the combustion of carbon monoxide. LÄS MER

  3. 18. Biomedical Applications of Bacterial Cellulose Fermentation, Morphology and Surface Properties

    Författare :Aase Katarina Bodin; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; biocompatibility; xyloglucan epitopes; mechanical properties; cell adhesion; tubular fermentation; morphology; Bacterial cellulose; surface properties; meniscus mold; crystal formation.; ozonation; adsorption;

    Sammanfattning : Because average life expectancy has increased and peoples lifestyles have changed, degenerative diseases have become a critical issue. The demand for biomedical materials to replace or improve major body systems (skeletal, circulatory and nervous, etc.) will increase as people strive to maintain good quality of life. LÄS MER

  4. 19. Ontogeny and Population Biology of a Sex-Limited Colour Polymorphism

    Författare :Jessica Abbott; Biologiska institutionen; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; embryologi; ontogeni; animal morphology; embryology; Utvecklingsbiologi; Damselflies; Colour polymorphism; Development; Frequency-dependence; Morphology; growth animal ; ontogeny; Animal anatomy; Development biology; Djurs anatomi och morfologi; Population divergence; Animal ecology; Djurekologi;

    Sammanfattning : This study has involved investigation of number of populations of the damselfly Ischnura elegans over several years, looking at frequency changes over time, morphological differences between the sexes and the morphs, differences in growth rate and development time, differences in fecundity between the morphs, and genetic differentiation between populations. 5. 20. A Linguistic Description of Mbugwe with Focus on Tone and Verbal Morphology

    Författare :Vera Wilhelmsen; Anju Saxena; Maarten Mous; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :HUMANIORA; HUMANITIES; Bantu; grammar; fieldwork; Tanzania; tone; TAM; morphology; Linguistics; Lingvistik;

    Sammanfattning : Mbugwe is an endangered Bantu language spoken in north central Tanzania. This PhD dissertation is a description of the Mbugwe language with a focus on tone and verbal morphology, based on the author’s fieldwork. This is the first detailed description of the language. Thus far, only a short grammatical sketch of Mbugwe has been available. LÄS MER
