  3. 3. Quantitation, Purification and Reconstitution of the Red Blood Cell Glucose Transporter GLUT1

    Detta är en avhandling från Uppsala : Acta Universitatis Upsaliensis

    Författare :Shusheng Zuo; Uppsala universitet.; [2005]
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Biochemistry; Cholesterol; Cytochalasin B; Glucose; GLUT1; Hummel and Dreyer analysis; Immobilization; PEG 5000 -DSPE; Biomembrane; Proteoliposome; Quantitative frontal affinity chromatography; Red blood cell streptavidin-biotin immobilization; Sulfhydryl affinity chromatography; The modified micro-Bradford CaPE assay; MALDI-ToF-MS; Biokemi; NATURAL SCIENCES Chemistry Biochemistry; NATURVETENSKAP Kemi Biokemi;

    Sammanfattning : The human glucose transporter GLUT1 facilitates glucose to be accumulated on the other side of the cell membrane. The functional state of GLUT1 is uncertain due to diversity of the reports. In this thesis, the activity of red blood cell GLUT1 was extensively studied to further characterize this protein. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Towards Classification and Functional Description of Enzymes: A case study of feruloyl esterases

    Detta är en avhandling från Uppsala : Acta Universitatis Upsaliensis

    Författare :Gupta Udatha; [2013]
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; descriptors; enzyme immobilization; catalytic triad; pharmacophore; enzyme promiscuity; functional classification; molecular docking; feruloyl esterases; protein evolution; structure-function relationship;

    Sammanfattning : The prediction of enzyme functionality from sequence or structure data remains a challenging task that can be best addressed by studying the structure-function relationships determined from previously available information. This thesis work was focused on developing a reliable classification and functional description for the feruloyl esterase (FAE) enzyme family, whose members’ possess both structural and catalytic promiscuity. 5. 5. Phage–derived Endolysins as Potential Antibacterials : A Study of Peptidoglycan Hydrolase and Mycolylarabinogalactan Esterase Enzymes

    Detta är en avhandling från Department of Chemistry, Lund University

    Författare :Adel Abouhmad; [2019-10-09]
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Antibacterial; Endolysin; Nanocrystals; Immobilization; Mycolylarabinogalactan esterase;

    Sammanfattning : Bacteriophages, or phages, are viruses that infect bacteria, at the end of their life cycle produce a set of enzymes called endolysins to lyse host cells from within, facilitating the release of the viral progeny. Due to their lytic activity, endolysins have gained great interest as potential antibacterials targeting both Gram–positive and –negative bacteria, especially in the actual context of increasing rates of antibiotics resistance.
