  1. 1. Towards 3D Covalent Organic Framework Films

    Författare :Martin Ratsch; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; COF; PAF; framework material; 3D; continuous flow; QCM; flims;

    Sammanfattning : Porous materials are of great scientific interest because they are able to interact with guests, such as ions, atoms and molecules throughout their entire volume. One big subgroup of organic porous materials are covalent organic frameworks (COFs), which are mainly synthesized as powders with an uncontrolled grain size. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Molecular Exchange in Colloidal Dispersions

    Författare :Alex Evilevitch; Kemiska institutionen; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; charged micoremulsion droplets; kinetics; mechanism.; Physical chemistry; Fysikalisk kemi; molecular transport; cell model; infinite dilution limit; turbidity measurements; oil solubilization; computer simulation; modeling; monomer diffusion; molecular exchange; Microemulsion droplets; oil droplets;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis is a study of molecular exchange between the aggregates in a colloidal dispersion. The problem of oil molecular transport at resolubilization of big oil drops by smaller microemulsion droplets is considered as an experimental model system. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Fingerprints of light-induced molecular transients : from quantum chemical models of ultrafast x-ray spectroscopy

    Författare :Jesper Norell; Michael Odelius; Sang-Kil Son; Stockholms universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; time-resolved x-ray spectroscopy; quantum chemistry; electronic structure; multi-configurational self-consistent field; density functional theory; molecular dynamics; Born-Oppenheimer dynamics; non-adiabatic dynamics; proton-transfer; charge-transfer; solvatization; Dyson orbital; teoretisk fysik; Theoretical Physics;

    Sammanfattning : Absorption of sunlight generates renewable electricity and powers the growth of plants, but also causes severe damage both to synthetic materials and biological tissue. The wildly varying outcomes of these light-induced processes are ultimately determined by much slighter differences in their underlying reaction pathways, induced by the transient properties of short-lived and miniscule molecules; a powerful approach to their detection and characterization is offered by ultrafast x-ray spectroscopy, with identification of spectral fingerprints and further guidance from quantum chemical models. 4. 4. The deep evolutionary roots of non-coding RNA - a comparative genomics approach

    Författare :Marc Patrick Hoeppner; Anthony M. Poole; Britt-Marie Sjöberg; Jürgen Brosius; Stockholms universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; non-coding RNA; evolution; comparative genomics; RNA world; introns; snoRNA; miRNA; Molecular biology; Molekylärbiologi; Molecular Biology; molekylärbiologi;

    Sammanfattning : Non-coding RNAs (ncRNA) are a diverse group of genes that do not encode proteins but function exclusively on the level of RNA and were originally suggested to be remnants of a pre-DNA stage of life known as the RNA world. More recent work, however, has uncovered a rich repertoire of previously unknown families with possible consequences for our understanding of the origin and evolution of the modern RNA infrastructure. 5. 5. Molecular Cloning and Functional Characterization of Factors Involved in Post-transcriptional Gene Expression

    Författare :Shao-Bo Jin; Lars Wieslander; Maria Carmo-Fonseca; Stockholms universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; gene expression; pre-mRNA processing; pre-rRNA processing; Molecular biology; Molekylärbiologi;

    Sammanfattning : Gene expression in the eukaryotic cell is a fundamental cellular process, which consists of several distinct steps but extensively coupled to each other. From site of transcription in the nucleus to the cytoplasm, both mRNA and rRNA are associated with a proper set of proteins. LÄS MER
