    Sammanfattning : Glioblastoma (GBM) is the most common high-grade brain tumor diagnosed in patients who are more than 50 years of age. The standard of care treatment is surgery, followed by radiotherapy and chemotherapy. The median life expectancy of patients is only between 12 to 15 months after receiving current treatment regimes. 3. 3. Exploring Molecular Interactions : Synthesis and Studies of Clip-Shaped Molecular Hosts

    Författare :Anjaneya Prasad Polavarapu; Helena Grennberg; Adolf Gogoll; Jerker Mårtensson; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :Organic chemistry; Glycoluril clips; host-guest systems; supramolecular chemistry; complexation induced shifts; conformational restriction; NMR spectroscopy; fullerene binding; Organisk kemi;

    Sammanfattning : Molecular recognition via noncovalent interactions plays a key role in many biological processes such as antigen-antibody interactions, protein folding, the bonding and catalytic transformation of substrates by enzymes, etc. Amongst these noncovalent interactions, electrostatic interactions, hydrogen bonding, π-π interactions, and metal-to-ligand bonding are the most prominent. 4. 4. A structural study of ribokinase from Escherichia coli

    Författare :Jill A. Sigrell; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Molecular biology; ATP-binding; conformational changes; kinase; ribose; X-ray crystallography; Molekylärbiologi; Molecular biology; Molekylärbiologi; molekylärbiologi; Molecular Biology;

    Sammanfattning : Ribokinase phosphorylates the abundant sugar ribose, using ATP in the presence of magnesium. The phosphorylation is the first reaction in ribose metabolism and the product, ribose-5-phosphate, can enter the pentose phosphate pathway and glycolysis. It can also be used in the synthesis of histidine and purines. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Morphological changes in mycobacteria

    Författare :Malavika Ramesh; Leif A. Kirsebom; Anders Løbner-Olesen; Uppsala universitet; []
