21. Road disasters? Modeling and assessment of Swedish roads within crucial climate conditions
Sammanfattning : An efficient maintenance of roads to ensure high accessibility and durability of the transport capacity requires an understanding of how the hydrological response depends on both the road and the landscape characteristics. New methods and data were used to identify and explain interaction between roads and surrounding environment and their influence on hydrologic responses both in watershed scale and road-section scale. 22. Tooling and processing for efficient and high tolerance prepreg composite manufacturing
Sammanfattning : Composite use is normally motivated in aircraft design by improved weight-specific mechanical properties as compared to metals. However, fatigue and dielectric properties may also be critical for material selection. LÄS MER
23. A design-build contractor risk assessment framework for new technical solutions in the construction industry
Sammanfattning : Design–build contractors are often challenged to introduce new technical solutions into construction projects. However, they might not have methods and resources required to avoid serial failure, which is defined as multiple cases of failure when a technical solution fails to sustain the performance requirements. 24. Characterization of conversion zones in a reciprocating grate furnace firing wet woody biomass
Sammanfattning : Grate-firing systems are a common and popular combustion technology for burning biomass. However, combustion of biomass in these furnaces may emit a large amount of pollutants in the form of CO, CH4, PAH, NOx, and particles. LÄS MER
25. Footwear for cold environments : thermal properties, performance and testing
Sammanfattning : Footwear with various insulation levels was evaluated. Some footwear was manufactured both with and without steel toe cap. Comparative studies between various methods (thermal foot model, human subjects, EN 344) were carried out. Data from subjects and foot model were used in evaluation of thermal properties of footwear.
