1. Moisture Transport in Porous Media. Modelling Based on Kirchhoff Potentials
Sammanfattning : The work presented in this thesis is focused on the development of the new concept to describe isothermal moisture transport using Kirchhoff potentials. The first four papers deal with moisture transport in porous media using Kirchhoff potentials. The last three papers deal with wood. LÄS MER
2. Diffusion of Water in Foods during Heating
Sammanfattning : The overall aim of this research was to improve the knowledge of diffusion of water in foods during heating, so that the final quality of foods after heat processing could be predicted and controlled. The work consisted of three main parts. The first part involved the development of a method to study the diffusion. LÄS MER
3. Moisture content profiles and surface phenomena during drying of wood
Sammanfattning : Timber drying is one of the most important processes whenmanufacturing sawn timber products. The drying processinfluences deformations, surface checking, discoloration andhence, the product quality and the manufacturing costs. LÄS MER
4. Alternative methods for analysing moisture transport in buildings : Utilisation of tracer gas and natural stable isotopes
Sammanfattning : New methods, based on tracer gas measurements and isotopicanalysis can be used to evaluate the moisture properties ofbuilding materials and provide the means for forensic analysisof the origins and history of excessive water in buildings, theimmediate practical consequences of which will be the abilityto improve the moisture performance of constructions. It is shown, in theory and through measurements how thewater vapour permeability of porous building materials can witha good degree of accuracy be estimated with tracer gasmeasurements that provide an efficient alternative to the cupmethod. 5. Putsens inverkan på fasadens fuktbalans
Sammanfattning : The report deals with the effect of renderings on the moisture balance in facades. The main therne is the moisture mechanism in cnnnection with different moisture sources. Different opinions about moisture in facades and consequences of moisture are mentioned as a background. LÄS MER
