1. Moisture Transport in Porous Media. Modelling Based on Kirchhoff Potentials
Sammanfattning : The work presented in this thesis is focused on the development of the new concept to describe isothermal moisture transport using Kirchhoff potentials. The first four papers deal with moisture transport in porous media using Kirchhoff potentials. The last three papers deal with wood. LÄS MER
2. Metoder att välja korrektioner vid fuktberäkningar med variabelt utomhusklimat
Sammanfattning : Determination of the design conditions for moisture resistance requires in a Moisture Design number of different moisture calculations to be made in order to determine the moisture status within, or on the surface of, a structure. The objective of this work has been to ascertain how to allow for variations in climate data in order to be able to determine the most unfavourable moisture status likely to be encountered during the life of a building. 3. On Sahelian-Sudan rainfall and its moisture sources
Sammanfattning : The African Sahel is one of the most vulnerable regions to climate variability at different time scales. It is an arid to semi-arid region with limited water resources. The summer rainfall is one of these sources, but it exhibits pronounced interannual variability. This thesis presents several aspects of Sahelian Sudan rainfall. LÄS MER
4. Moisture Conditions in High Performance Concrete. Mathematical Modelling and Measurements
Sammanfattning : The work presented in this thesis has been focused on developing a model to calculate the moisture conditions in concrete of low water/binder ratio (W/B) which is normally used in high performance concrete. To do this, the moisture conditions in high performance concrete have been studied, from a very early age. LÄS MER
5. Moisture Transport and Moisture-Induced Distortions in Timber - an Experimental and Numerical Study
Sammanfattning : Timber products subjected to climatic variations commonly display moisture-induced distortions that can lead to serious problems for end-users. The aim of the thesis, which consists of an extended summary and six appended papers, was to investigate the potential of using the gluing technique suggested here for dealing with problems of moisture-induced distortions and developing the heat and mass transfer models which such distortion analyses require.
