  1. 11. Model Predictive Control in Flight Control Design : Stability and Reference Tracking

    Författare :Daniel Simon; Johan Löfberg; Sébastien Gros; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Model Predictive Control;

    Sammanfattning : Aircraft are dynamic systems that naturally contain a variety of constraints and nonlinearities such as, e.g., maximum permissible load factor, angle of attack and control surface deflections. LÄS MER

  2. 12. Perturbation-based Control of Industrial Fed-batch Bioprocesses

    Författare :Ola Johnsson; Institutionen för reglerteknik; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; perturbation-based control; process control; fed-batch control; industrial bioprocesses;

    Sammanfattning : The topic of this thesis is bioprocess control, more specifically control of industrial-scale microbial fed-batch bioprocesses. Its focus is therefore on methods which are easy to implement in an industrial setting, which gives certain limitations on sensors, actuators and control systems. LÄS MER

  3. 13. On Modeling and Control of Flexible Manipulators

    Författare :Stig Moberg; Svante Gunnarsson; Anders Robertsson; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; System identification; multivariable systems; differential-algebraic equations; robots; manipulators; flexible structures; robustness; position control; nonlinear systems; closed-loop identification; frequency-response methods; industrial robots; robotics; control; feedforward; flexible arms; Automatic control; Reglerteknik;

    Sammanfattning : Industrial robot manipulators are general-purpose machines used for industrial automation in order to increase productivity, flexibility, and quality. Other reasons for using industrial robots are cost saving, and elimination of heavy and health-hazardous work. LÄS MER

  4. 14. Model-Based Optimization of Combustion-Engine Control

    Författare :Gabriel Turesson; Institutionen för reglerteknik; []
    Nyckelord :Model Predictive Control MPC ; Partially Premixed Combustion; Pressure Sensor Feedback; Model Based Control; Particle Filter; Multiple Fuel Injections; Gasoline Compression Ignition; Model Predictive Control MPC ; Partially Premixed Combustion PPC ; Low Temperature Combustion; Model Based Control; Multiple Fuel Injections; Pressure Sensor Feedback; Particle Filter; Gasoline Compression Ignition;

    Sammanfattning : The work presented in this thesis is motivated by the need to reliably operate a compression-ignition engine in a partially premixed combustion (PPC) mode. Partially premixed combustion is a low temperature combustion concept, where the ignition delay is prolonged to enhance fuel-air mixing in the combustion chamber before the start of combustion. 5. 15. Look-ahead control for fuel-efficient and safe heavy-duty vehicle platooning

    Författare :Valerio Turri; Karl H. Johansson; Petros Ioannou; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; platoon; platooning; optimization; optimal control; model predictive control; automatic control; fuel efficiency; intelligent transport systems; automated driving; cooperative; dynamic programming; trucks; heavy-duty vehicles; safe platooning; fuel-efficient platooning; distributed model predictive control; MPC; vehicle-following; pulse and glide; Vehicle and Maritime Engineering; Farkostteknik;

    Sammanfattning : The operation of heavy-duty vehicles at small inter-vehicular distances, known as platoons, lowers the aerodynamic drag and, therefore, reduces fuel consumption and greenhouse gas emissions. Tests conducted on flat roads have shown the potential of platooning to reduce the fuel consumption of about 10%. LÄS MER
