  1. 1. Gamer mode : Identifying and managing unwanted behaviour in military educational wargaming

    Författare :Anders Frank; Kristina Höök; Kristine Jørgensen; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Gamer mode; military education; wargaming; game-based learning; Människa-datorinteraktion; Human-computer Interaction; Ledningsvetenskap;

    Sammanfattning : Games are rule-governed systems at the same time as they are fiction, simulating or representing a real or an abstract world. This defining characteristic may create for different forms of tensions, that is, at different times players may focus on the rules, the fiction or on both during game play. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Brandmannautbildning på distans, en het fråga : om utmaningar, motsättningar och förändringar vid implementering av distansutbildning

    Författare :Robert Holmgren; Ola Lindberg; Umeå universitet; []
    Nyckelord :Firefighter training; online vocational training; learning processes; instructor roles; activity theory; contradictions; Brandmannautbildning; nätbaserad yrkesutbildning; lärprocesser; instruktörsroller; aktivitetsteori; kontradiktioner; pedagogik; Education;

    Sammanfattning : In recent years, distance courses combining online studies with physical meetings on campus have become increasingly common as an alternative to regular campus courses, even in vocational training programs with extensive practical skills components. This thesis is focused on the implementation of distance firefighter training in Sweden and the ways in which this intervention has affected training activities and participants, as well as on the impact that historical and contextual training aspects have had on the implementation process. 3. 3. Constraint Induced Movement Therapy : influence of restraint and type of training on performance and on brain plasticity

    Författare :Christina Brogårdh; Bengt H Sjölund; Michael Nilsson; Umeå universitet; []
    Nyckelord :Medicine; Constraint induced movement therapy; hand; stroke; group practise; reliability; mode of training; dexterity; brain plasticity; Medicin; rehabiliteringsmedicin; Rehabilitation Medicine;

    Sammanfattning : Partial paralysis of the hand is one of the main impairments after stroke. Constraint Induced Movement Therapy (CIT) is a new treatment technique that appears to improve upper extremity function after stroke. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Biomechanical and neural aspects of eccentric and concentric muscle performance in stroke subjects : Implications for resistance training

    Författare :Mattias Hedlund; Britta Lindström; Peter Sojka; Ronnie Lundström; Carl-Johan Olsson; Jan Lexell; Umeå universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; fMRI; Isokinetic; Motor imagery; Muscular strength; Resistance training; Neurological rehabilitation;

    Sammanfattning : Muscle weakness is one of the major causes of post-stroke disability. Stroke rehabilitation programs now often incorporate the same type of resistance training that is used for healthy subjects; however, the training effects induced from these training strategies are often limited for stroke patients. 5. 5. Neuromuscular aspects of eccentric knee extensor actions : effects of electrical stimulation, age, gender and training

    Författare :Jan Seger; Alf Thorstensson; Roger Enoka; Gymnastik- och idrottshögskolan; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Physiology; Fysiologi; children; concentric; eccentric; efficiency; electrical stimulation; electromyography; growth; inhibition; isokinetic; specificity; strength; training;

    Sammanfattning : The overall aim of this thesis was to study the effects of electrical stimulation, age, gender and training on the torque- and EMG-velocity relationships during eccentric knee extensor muscle actions in man. An isokinetic custom-built dynamometer was evaluated and used throughout the thesis. LÄS MER
