16. Human mobility behavior : Transport mode detection by GPS data
Sammanfattning : GPS tracking data are widely used to understand human travel behavior and to evaluate the impact of travel. A major advantage with the usage of GPS tracking devices for collecting data is that it enables the researcher to collect large amounts of highly accurate and detailed human mobility data. LÄS MER
17. Thermo-Acoustic Properties in Combustion Chambers
Sammanfattning : Design and analysis methods for gas turbine combustors or afterburners have to be improved in particular regarding the prediction of combustion instabilites. A methodology, which combines the use of a linearized flow solver and an Arnoldi algorithm performing the eigenmode extraction procedure, resolves eigenmodes which are candidates to these instabilities. 18. Microbial Production of Bio-Based Chemicals: A Biorefinery Perspective
Sammanfattning : A shift from fossil- to renewable biomass feedstock for the emerging bio-based economy requires the development and adoption of new sustainable technologies that are more suited for transformation of biomass components to chemicals, materials and energy. This thesis presents investigations on the development of processes based on industrial biotechnology as a key element for the production of chemicals from agro-/industrial by-products. LÄS MER
19. Photonic devices with MQW active material and waveguide gratings : modelling and characterisation
Sammanfattning : The research work presented in this thesis deals with modelling, design and characterisation of passive and active optical waveguide devices. The rst part of the thesis is related to algorithm development and numerical modelling of planar optical waveguides and gratings using the Method of Lines (MoL). LÄS MER
20. Meningsskapandets möjligheter : multimodal teoribildning och multiliteracies i skolan
Sammanfattning : This thesis concerns the changing predispositions and conditions for contemporary meaning-making in school education. From a socio-cultural perspective, multimodal theory formation is used to find suitable tools and concepts for developing teaching and learning. LÄS MER
