  1. 1. Linear and Non-Linear Analysis of Plates and Shells by Use of Morley Finite Elements

    Författare :Ulrika Wendt; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; explicit dynamic formulation; adaptive methods; Shells Morley element; plates; Germain-Kirchhoff plate theory; finite element method; mixed plate formulation;

    Sammanfattning : The thesis deals with plate bending analysis and shell analysis in static linear and dynamic non-linear situations. The thesis contains two parts. In common for them is the use of the Germain-Kirchhoff plate theory, constant strain, constant curvature triangular plate elements and adaptive improvement of original solution. LÄS MER

  2. 2. High performance hybrid mixed elements using orthogonal stress interpolants and scaling of the higher order stiffness

    Författare :Anders Sundin; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Structural Engineering; Konstruktionsteknik;

    Sammanfattning : During the evolution of the finite element method, formulations based on the principle of minimum potential energy have dominated the scene. These formulations employ an assumed displacement field within each element which must preserve continuity of displacements between adjacent elements. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Solution to boundary-contact problems of elasticity in mathematical models of the printing-plate contact system for flexographic printing

    Författare :Nikolai Kotik; Yury Shestopalov; Stig Larsson; Karlstads universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; boundary-contact problem; elasticity; integral equation; approximate decomposition; Applied mathematics; Tillämpad matematik; Matematik; Mathematics;

    Sammanfattning : Boundary-contact problems (BCPs) are studied within the frames ofclassical mathematical theory of elasticity and plasticityelaborated by Landau, Kupradze, Timoshenko, Goodier, Fichera andmany others on the basis of analysis of two- and three-dimensionalboundary value problems for linear partial differential equations.A great attention is traditionally paid both to theoreticalinvestigations using variational methods and boundary singularintegral equations (Muskhelishvili) and construction of solutionsin the form that admit efficient numerical evaluation (Kupradze). 4. 4. On the Modelling and Numerics of Gradient-Regularized Plasticity Coupled to Damage

    Författare :Thomas Svedberg; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis is primarily concerned with issues that arise in conjunction with the modelling of localization phenomena in solids using gradient-regularized plasticity with coupling to damage. The thermodynamic framework for a larger class of models is established, whereby gradients of the internal variables are included as arguments of the free energy. LÄS MER
