6. Structural Properties of Palladium-Manganese Alloys
Sammanfattning : Structural properties of adsorbed overlayers on well-defined single crystals and of Palladium-Manganese surface alloys formed on Pd(100) have been investigated using synchrotron-based photoemission, scanning tunneling microscopy and Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy. The experimental valence electronic structure of PdMn systems on Pd(100) is compared to density functional calculations (DFT). LÄS MER
7. Molecules and Clusters on Oxide Surfaces
Sammanfattning : In this thesis X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy, X-ray absorption spectroscopy, scanning tunneling microscopy, and density functional theory have been used to study the fundamental interactions between model oxidesurfaces and either organic, mixed organic/inorganic, or purely inorganic adsorbate layers. As model oxidesurfaces have served the rutile TiO2(110) surface and an in-situ grown iron oxide film supported by a Pt(111)surface. LÄS MER
8. Interface-Assisted Perovskite Modulations for High-Performance Light-Emitting Diodes
Sammanfattning : Metal halide perovskites have emerged as a class of promising materials for a wide range of optoelectronic devices. Compared with traditional inorganic and organic semiconductors, perovskite materials can be easily processed via solution-based techniques at low temperatures and exhibit high photo-luminescence efficiency, outstanding colour purity, and superior charge transport properties, showing great promise for cost-effective and high-performance light-emitting diodes (LEDs). 9. Molecular Beam Epitaxy and Characterisation of GaN-compounds on GaAs(001) and Sapphire(0001)
Sammanfattning : The hexagonal (wurtzite) and the cubic (zinc blende) group-III nitrides and their heterostructures have attracted much attention due to their potential for applications in high-power, high-frequency electronic and optoelectronic devices. The optical emission range of the GaN-based alloys cover the whole visible range from near infrared (IR) to ultraviolet (UV). LÄS MER
10. Molecular Adsorption on Self Assembled Monolayers studied by Surface Acoustic Waves and Infrared Spectroscopy
Sammanfattning : Chemical sensors based on the selective absorption of gas/vapors in polymer layers rely on molecular interactions. Details of the mechanisms involved can be obtained by studying the adsorption on well defined model organic surfaces. LÄS MER
