1. Mixed mode loaded adhesive layers : from measurement of material data to analysis of structural behaviour
Sammanfattning : In manufacturing of multi-material products, a joining method that is able to cost-effectively assemble components made of dissimilar and similar material, with irregular geometries, is optimal. As an alternative, adhesive bonding is in-creasingly adapted by the industry, which is also used in manufacturing of multi-phase materials. LÄS MER
2. Dislocation density based material model applied in FE-simulation of metal cutting
Sammanfattning : Simulation based design enables rapid development of products with increased customer value in terms of accessibility, quality, productivity and profitability. However simulation of metal cutting is complex both in terms of numeric and physics. The work piece material undergoes severe deformations. LÄS MER
3. Modelling of Inelastic Effects in Metal Sheets and Identification of Material Parameters
Sammanfattning : The continuum modelling of the macroscopic behaviour of metallic sheets and the identification of corresponding material parameters for models selected are dealt with in the thesis. Thermodynamics with internal variables provides a framework for the derivation of the models. LÄS MER
4. Application of cohesive modeling in joining technology
Sammanfattning : ABSTRACTThis thesis summarizes the development of cohesive modeling of joints. It presents some new developments regarding the effects of non-zero thickness of adhesive layers and a novel approach of using the concept of cohesive modeling to characterize the failure behavior of rivet joints. 5. Flotation of silicate minerals : physico-chemical studies in the presence of alkylamines and mixed (cationic/anionic/non-ionic) collectors
Sammanfattning : The mechanism of adsorption of long chain alkyl primary amines and, co-adsorption of amines and alcohols on silicate minerals (quartz and feldspar) were studied using FTIR (DRIFT and IRRAS) and XPS spectroscopy methods. The spectroscopy data were correlated with zeta-potential and Hallimond flotation results. LÄS MER
