  1. 1. Sulphide mineral flotation : a new insight into oxidation mechanisms

    Författare :Alireza Javadi; Jan D. Miller; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Mineralteknik; Mineral Processing;

    Sammanfattning : Formation of hydrogen peroxide (H2O2), an oxidizing agent stronger than oxygen, by sulphide minerals during grinding was investigated. It was found that pyrite (FeS2), chalcopyrite (CuFeS2), sphalerite ((Zn,Fe)S), and galena (PbS), which are the most abundant sulphide minerals on Earth, generated H2O2 in pulp liquid during wet grinding in the presence or devoid of dissolved oxygen in water and also when the freshly ground solids are placed in water immediately after dry grinding. 3. 3. Processes of Magma-crust Interaction : Insights from Geochemistry and Experimental Petrology

    Författare :Frances M Deegan; Valentin R Troll; Luigi Dallai; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Canary Island magmatism; HP-HT experimental petrology; magma-crust interaction; Merapi volcano; radiogenic isotopes Sr; Nd; Pb ; stable isotopes O; B .; Solid earth geology and petrology; Berggrundsgeologi och petrologi; Geovetenskap med inriktning mot mineralogi; petrologi och tektonik; Earth Science with specialization in Mineral Chemistry; Petrology and Tectonics;

    Sammanfattning : This work focuses on crustal interaction in magmatic systems, drawing on experimental petrology and elemental and isotope geochemistry. Various magma-chamber processes such as magma-mixing, fractional crystallisation and magma-crust interaction are explored throughout the papers comprising the thesis. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Magma-Crust Interaction at Subduction Zone Volcanoes

    Författare :Ester M. Jolis; Valentin R Troll; Silvio Mollo; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; magma-crust interaction; stable isotopes O-C ; radiogenic isotopes Sr-Nd-Pb ; calc-silicate xenoliths; HP-HT experimental petrology; crustal volatiles; Vesuvius; Merapi; Kelut; the Sunda arc; Geovetenskap med inriktning mot mineralogi; petrologi och tektonik; Earth Science with specialization in Mineral Chemistry; Petrology and Tectonics;

    Sammanfattning : The focus of this work is magma-crust interaction processes and associated crustal volatile release in subduction zone volcanoes, drawing on rock, mineral, and gas geochemistry as well as experimental petrology. Understanding the multitude of differentiation processes that modify an original magma during ascent to the surface is vital to unravel the contributions of the various sources that contribute to the final magmas erupted at volcanoes. 5. 5. Design and Development of Mineral Structure Specific Collectors in Flotation

    Författare :Tommy Karlkvist; Beena Rai; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Mineralteknik; Mineral Processing;

    Sammanfattning : The success of mineral flotation processes depends on the hydrophobization of the surface for the desired mineral particles whilst keeping, or making, all other minerals hydrophilic. This is achieved by adding several reagents to the flotation pulp to adsorb selectively at the mineral/water interface. LÄS MER
