7. On User Involvement in Research on Ageing and Health
Sammanfattning : The aim of this thesis was to explore the perceptions of, prerequisites for and benefits of user involvement among older people, persons with functional impairments and other user groups important to the research area. By using an adapted conceptual tool to categorize the various user involvement studies comprising the thesis, the aim wasalso to reflect on the importance of study design for the outcomes of the user involvement, and thus to contribute to the development of generalizable knowledge and cumulative knowledge in research on ageing and health. 8. Time for time : assessment of time processing ability and daily time management in children with and without disabilities
Sammanfattning : The focus of this thesis was further development of instruments for assessing Time Processing Ability (TPA) and daily Time Management (TM) in children, focusing on the constructs measured and investigating differences in TPA and daily TM between children with and without cognitive disabilities. Participants were 5-11 year-old TD children (n=144) and children with disabilities: Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD), mild or moderate intellectual disabilities, or with neurological disease such as CP or MMC (n=118). 9. Understanding how persons with mild acquired cognitive impairment use and experience information and communication technology : an exploratory study
Sammanfattning : Mild acquired cognitive impairment (MACI) is a term used to characterise persons who acquire a minor, non-progressive decrease in cognitive functions due to some physical trauma, or medical conditions, such as benign tumour, cardiovascular diseases (stroke), or side effects of medical treatment. Persons with MACI might suffer from multiple cognitive and/or slight physical disabilities and need rehabilitation to recover and regain their skills. LÄS MER

Sammanfattning : In Swedish schools, the subject Home Economics (HE) is the formal setting for teaching and learning about food and how to cook. All students are obliged to learn HE, but in schools for students with mild intellectual disabilities (ID) students are offered four times as much teaching in the subject than students in regular schools.
