Striving to understand the respective places accorded to the measures to increase the participation of the inhabitants on the one hand, and to improve for security and public peace in the context of social and territorial policies on the other, I examine how urban policies define models of urban citizenship. 2. Everyday Clandestinity : Experiences on the Margins of Citizenship and Migration Policies
Sammanfattning : The overarching purpose of this study is to put the experiences of clandestine asylum seekers (rejected asylum seekers who, avoiding deportation, continue to stay in Sweden) at the centre of a critical re-reading of Swedish migration and gender regimes. Further, the study – in dialogue with feminist and postcolonial perspectives – aims to analyse the gendered experiences of migration and clandestinity in the context of a Nordic welfare model in transition towards a model more closely identified with neoliberal discourses and migration and welfare policies. 4. Adaptive flexibility in migratory behaviour of shorebirds
Sammanfattning : The phenomenon of bird migration has long fascinated us humans and it has prompted questions like where do they go or come from and how do they find their way? Arctic shorebirds are well known for their spectacular long-distance migrations with some species travelling more than 10 000 km every spring and autumn, and some even cover this distance in one single nonstop flight. The aim of my thesis was to investigate the flexibility of Arctic shorebirds when it comes to orientation behaviour, departure behaviour and migration strategy. LÄS MER

Sammanfattning : Civic integration is an essential part of contemporary migration control regimes. This thesis examines what happens when civic integration policy enters domestic courts, by focusing on how Sweden’s migration courts (which are part of the administrative courts) apply the income and housing requirements for family reunification.
