22. A tiny glimpse into the human brain using model-free analysis for resting-state fMRI data
Sammanfattning : Resting-state functional Magnetic Resonance Imaging (fMRI) acquires four dimensional data that indirectly depicts human brain activity. Within these four dimensional datasets reside resting-state functional connectivity networks (RFNs), depicting how the human brain is organized functionally. LÄS MER
23. Effects of cold and hand-arm vibration on the peripheral neurosensory and vascular system : an occupational perspective
Sammanfattning : Background In Swedish working life, exposure to cold and exposure to hand-arm vibration (HAV) are two common health hazards. Health effects of HAV in the neurosensory, vascular and musculoskeletal systems are collectively denoted hand-arm vibration syndrome (HAVS), and have been thoroughly studied. LÄS MER
24. Rare pediatric movement disorders : clinical aspects of genotype, phenotype, and assessment
Sammanfattning : Pediatric movement disorders are defined by an impaired ability to initiate and control movements. Dystonia, one of these disorders, may cause a life-long severe motor disability. Pharmacological treatment is often insufficient, but deep brain stimulation (DBS) has turned out to be effective for some dystonia subtypes. LÄS MER
25. Recurrent Headache among Swedish Adolescents : Psychosocial Factors, Coping and Effects of Relaxation Treatment
Sammanfattning : Overall aims of the present thesis were to study the prevalence and psychosocial impact of recurrent headache within a school population in comparison with other types of pain and to examine the use and efficacy of various coping strategies. Further aims were to compare the effects of relaxation treatment among adolescents with recurrent headache to a waiting-list control group, and finally to examine the efficacy of relaxation training administered in a school setting.
