    Sammanfattning : Today, the demand for speed in drug discovery is constantly increasing, particularly in the iterative processes of hit validation and expansion and lead optimization. Irradiation with microwaves (MWs) has been applied in the area of organic synthesis to accelerate chemical reactions and to facilitate the generation of new chemical entities since 1986. LÄS MER

  2. 22. Asymmetric catalysis : ligand design and microwave acceleration

    Författare :Ulf Bremberg; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis deals partly with the design and synthesis ofligands for use in asymmetric catalysis, and partly with theapplication of microwave heating on metal-based asymmetriccatalytic reactions.Enantiomerically pure pyridyl alcohols and bipyridylalcohols were synthesized from the chiral pool for future usein asymmetric catalysis. 5. 25. Acetylation of Solid Wood. Wood Properties and Process Development

    Författare :Pia Larsson Brelid; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; microwave heating; deformation; wood; hardness; adhesive bonding; power penetration depth; shear strength; delamination; acetylation; pH; bending strength; dielectric properties; stability;

    Sammanfattning : The influence of acetylation on selected wood properties has been determined for Scandinavian pine and spruce wood, in order to predict the behavior of acetylated wood when it is used in different applications. Only minor differences in both bending strength and the modulus of elasticity were obtained for acetylated wood when compared with unmodified wood, and can, for practical applications, be considered unaltered.
