  1. 1. Microvascular Complications and Predictors for Mortality in Patients with Type 2 Diabetes and Foot Ulcers

    Författare :Katarina Fagher; Lund Medicin; []
    Nyckelord :Diabetic foot ulcer; Microvascular disease; mortality risk;

    Sammanfattning : A diabetic foot ulcer (DFU) is a common and serious complication of diabetes. It is today the leading cause of amputations and is associated with both increased morbidity and mortality. Individuals with DFU have 2.5 times higher mortality rates compared to patients with diabetes but without DFU, a risk that persists even after ulcer healing. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Genetics of complications in patients with type 2 diabetes

  3. 3. Negative Pressure Wound Therapy - Mechanisms of Action and Protecting Exposed Blood Vessels in the Wound Bed

    Författare :Erik Anesäter; Thoraxkirurgi; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Negative pressure wound therapy; wounds; complications; experimental surgery; blood flow;

    Sammanfattning : NPWT has recently been associated with severe complications and bleeding when used in wounds with exposed blood vessels. The aims of this work were to investigate the mechanisms of action of NPWT and to explore the possibility of using thin plastic discs to protect exposed blood vessels in the wound bed during NPWT. 5. 5. Differences in glycemic control in type 1 diabetes children and adolescents : in a national and international perspective and the effect on microvascular complications in young adults
