7. Atmospheric corrosion of zinc-aluminum and copper-based alloys in chloride-rich environments : Microstructure, corrosion initiation, patina evolution and metal release
Sammanfattning : Fundamental understanding of atmospheric corrosion mechanisms requires an in-depth understanding on the dynamic interaction between corrosive constituents and metal/alloy surfaces. This doctoral study comprises field and laboratory investigations that assess atmospheric corrosion and metal release processes for two different groups of alloys exposed in chloride-rich environments. 8. Process-microstructure-corrosion interrelations for stainless steel
Sammanfattning : Stainless steels were first developed in the early 20th century and have since then emerged as a very diverse class of engineering materials. Along with steels having new combinations of properties, there is a continuous development of new technologies allowing the material to be produced in a faster and more energy effcient manner. 9. Rheology and Microstructure of Mixed Biopolymer Gels
Sammanfattning : The viscoelastic behaviour of biopolymer mixtures showing synergism was investigated under different physicochemical conditions using small deformation oscillatory measurements. In addition, the rheological properties of binary polysaccharide mixtures were related to the microstructure as observed using transmission electron microscopy. LÄS MER
10. Microstructure of Cermets
Sammanfattning : The microstructure of several TiC-TiN-Mo2C-WC-Co/Ni model alloys and a commercial (Ti,Ta,W,Mo)(C,N)-(Co,Ni) type cermet was studied using x-ray diffraction, optical microscopy, scanning electron microscopy, analytical electron microscopy and atom probe field ion microscopy. In addition thermodynamical calculations were made in order to understand the development of the microstructure during sintering. LÄS MER
